Massive for us tomorrow, with one point in nine we simply have to win. I'm hoping Vale will be on the beach and we will be motivated by our poor performance at Macclesfield but we will see.
Squeaky bum time

Always wondered that at yours, why not just have some barrier or something up between the 2 stands? Last season that’s pretty much all that separated Mansfield and chesterfield and that was pretty rowdy as you can imagine.
Has us baffled too

Weird side Newport, capable of beating the very best, yet losing to the very worst.

Should we vacate the division it will become the “Newport division” as both them and us are the longest serving members here, 5 years to date

Not safe yet so would be furious if we didn’t put in the performance levels we have been until we can’t be caught.

You can't actually place a bet on you to be relegated. Cambridge are 80/1 but it's not possible to bet on you or Morecambe. Yeovil and County still have to play Crawley and Macc Cambridge. You are definitely safe

Nah we are flying. You're basically playing the best team in the league right now.

Still shit myself... it’s Vale after all, we are absolutely on fire at the moment but still worry we will get 0 points from the last 5 and somehow be hunted down!

Intriguing game tomorrow. We’ve been averaging 2 points a game over the last 7 and have the best away defence in the league. Should be buzzing after beating our local rivals following on from a stunning come back win with 10 men... but it’s a tough place to go and Exeter are still a decent side regardless of form. 7 weeks ago this was a home banker but we’ve been revolutionised under Askey with the new high press system. Losing Manny to injury though is a blow. We can win it but we will have to be at our best.

Exeter at evens is a really tantalising bet, even taking into account vales form.

I think it’s pretty certain we are going to lose today, given our off-field issues.

Could be quite a heavy defeat I imagine morale is pretty non-existent.

Write us out of the promotion picture I’d say.

Then you win today and results go your way....

Good job you're only playing us then, with one goal in five and relegation form since Christmas.

I would be licking ya lips MK/Tranmere/Bury because Mansfield have been completely took over by nerves, another shocking performance except we didn't get away with it this time.

It's going to be really difficult to get these lot over the line for the manager now.

Another flitcroft special today

If we go up it’ll be despite him, he’s a disaster.

Sit everyone back at every corner and every set piece at fucking Northampton, like really?

Dreadful showing

Really unimpressed with Mansfield today, so negative and dour and we were the better side. If they’d have tried to kick on after taking the lead history shows we get beaten comfortably on the basis of the season so far, yet they just sat back. Bizarre.

3 wins from 4 gets us automatics I reckon.

With our outrageous home record who knows?

Terrific season for us, no consolidation needed!

Well, it's been obvious for a few weeks, but Lincoln finally seal their promotion to League One. After hitting some low low depths in the Conference only a few years ago, it's been a hell of a turnaround for them. Maybe not quite as triumphant as they would have liked, drawing with Cheltenham, but I doubt they care. Good luck to them next season.

Bury pull out a massive win given their circumstances. They are now back in the driving seat with 4 games left. Still got some tough games coming up, especially Tranmere away for their final away game. Mansfield get a reasonable point away at Northampton, got to be beating Morecambe at home next week, huge game that.

MK Dons hit another wobble after back to back defeats and slip down to 4th. They have to get 6 points from their next 2 right, especially with Mansfield on the final day. And Tranmere are right back in the automatic picture after they beat the Dons. Still in the middle of a tough run, but they are very much in the mix. Any 2 of those 4 could go up in the top 3 realistically. Going to be a great final few weeks.

FGR pretty much wrap up a play-off spot, another win should seal it. Toughie next week at Tranmere mind, could be a play-off dress rehearsal. Exeter also pick up an important win against Port Vale, big result for them with the teams below all dropping points. They still need points, but you'd back them to get the 2 wins they need to finish in the top 7.

As for the chasing pack, not great all round. Swindon needed a win from their last 2 to close the gap and didn't. Their chances look slim, but do have a nice run in. Colchester seem to have totally run out of steam, hard to see them turning it back on out of nowhere. Carlisle also can't seem to string the results together after getting mauled at Stevenage. None of these teams seem to have that consistency. Are Newport and Oldham now dark horses with their games in hand?

So, well done to Lincoln on their promotion. But aside from that, the top 3 race is wide open and the play-offs are opening up a little bit but still have some interest. Roll on the Easter fixtures.

It was a dreadful showing which is why our fans were so quiet, not really sure how our goal came about either.

I can’t really understand either the team talk or the tactics as neither made any sense at all, we offered nothing and had no desire to score the 2nd.

Well done on your promotion Lincoln, by far the best team this season. Just hope we can follow you up to League One. Be nice if you can get the title wrapped up on Friday so that you're already on the beach by Monday. Maybe give the youth team a run out?

Massive win for us today, play like that for the rest of the season and I think we'll finish top three.

Bury keep pulling wins out of their arse despite being the latest basket case club. Beating them in our final home game won't be enough to catch them thanks to goal difference, and their run in looks easy compared to ours, so we need them to slip up.

Regardless, Tranmere v Bury and MK Dons v Mansfield are shaping up to be huge games.

We look so nervous it is ridiculous. Going for Tranmere and Bury to go up assuming Bury actually make the end of the season.

We’ve Morecambe at home on Friday which is a win, no excuses.

Win that and see what goes on, play like we did today though and who knows

Congratulations to Lincoln. It is an incredible story really, when you consider they were non league basket cases only three years ago, and most of their income is self-generated.

As for ourselves, if nothing else we are all but guaranteed a play off place now, which seemed unthinkable three months ago.

Be a travesty if Bury go up at the expense of a team who can afford to pay their own players/staff/debts. What happens if they do get promoted then go into liquidation after the season ends? A reprieve for one of the relegated teams in the league above and one less relegated from this league?

Adam I know it's easy to get emotional after a poor performance but to put that all down to the manager is a bit daft, he's clearly part to blame but the biggest culprit is nerves and our players bottling it.

He took off Tomlinson for Mellis to try and get the ball down and play, it never happened like but he tried to swap it around to win the game but the players did not respond.

Saying that we nearly won it via Rose, not sure about the penalty shout either? didn't deserve to win mind.
