We were promoted with you that season. Hopefully history will be repeated.
Ronnie Moore? Reading had Robin Friday, must have been quite a division that year.
Dennis Booth played for us he's quite a character having met him last year.
See you easter Monday

Yes, it was before my time but Moore scored about 35 goals that season, including four hat tricks.

We had our greatest managers in charge (Taylor and King), although Cowley might have earned that title at Lincoln now.

Saw a Mansfield fan mention about a penno shout for them today, all I’ll say if it was down the other end I’d have been shouting my box off for it...

And I must say I’ve not really been impressed by any teams this season, it’s such a dreary league with no real quality. Didn’t go to the return match but Lincoln burgled us on the opening day but they’ve obviously been by far the best (oh and I know we’re fucking shit)

We didn’t deserve to win at all, but how we went about the game after taking the lead left much to be desired

In the first half of the season you're probably calling it a good, hard fought point. At this stage in the season you'd be expecting much better from a team near the top.

I still think with Tranmere's run-in we'll stay ahead of them, but if they can win those games they deserve to be promoted.

Are we ever so slightly better than one of either MK Dons or Bury? I don't know, what do MK or Bury fans think?

I can’t knock a side that achieves back to back promotions, especially when they’ve not been backed with endless money.

I’ve seen some petty bollocks from the odd Tranmere fan, but I can ignore that and instead appreciate the majority who have stuck by them as they’ve gone down and down.

Fair fucks to them if they manage it. It would be fully deserved, as much as it hurts to admit.

Playing better sides suits us, we are statistically the best counter attacking team in the league. Plenty of twists and turns to come but I expect all 4 sides will still have a chance going into the final game..

Slight concern if Perkins is out though, losing both our first choice CM's at this late stage isn't ideal.

The internet makes it look like every team's fan base is made up of angry illiterate 15 year old, when in reality, most of us would have a pint with any other fan, rival or not.

Still think promotion is a tall order for us, but we're giving it a better go than I thought we would!

I just think it might be too tall of an ask with the games you have remaining. If you can beat all those teams and get promoted then we have no arguments that you deserve it. I still think the chances are very low though with the teams left to play.

Congratulations to Lincoln on their promotion to league 1. Think they’ll be there or there abouts next season too.
Our late manager Keith Alexander used to say that all the time, sure he's smiling down on us tonight with Richard Butcher and Graham Taylor

Tranmere guys: reaching the playoffs in your first season back in L2 isn't so bad actually! It points to good things!

Another flitcroft special today

If we go up it’ll be despite him, he’s a disaster.

Sit everyone back at every corner and every set piece at fucking Northampton, like really?

Dreadful showing

The wind has changed direction again for the 18th time this season

It'll be even quieter when the thousands of Luton fans move to the Championship section!
Providing Mansfield, Tranmere and maybe Bury also go up, it should boost the numbers a bit.

I think we are on our day the third best team behind you and Lincoln from what ive seen at Gigg Lane. Our defence still is at best mid table but our attacking play when everyones fit is probably the best. Still dont think we'll make it automatically though one way or another.

Congrats Lincoln, incredible journey you’ve been on and wisely invested in your success to keep the crest of the wave in sight.

First time to hit us for six at home in decades so can’t really argue with being the best side in the league.

Be interesting to see how you progress next year.

Playoffs looking more likely for us now, which is a big improvement from last season. One more win should pretty much seal it.

Still an outside chance of top 3 if we win all 4. Has we beaten MK the other week instead of losing we'd be right in it.

Congratulations to Lincoln, thoroughly deserved.

You guys need a new stadium and quick! If tickets are in demand this season then what are they going to be like next season in division 1.

Just put some temporary seating next to that odd stand that goes about a sixth of the length of the pitch?

Cheers - I think it was not given because Rose has a bit of a rep for falling over.

It's that sort of luck that gets you promotion, but it's still in our own hands despite the last two performances being poor we have picked up 4 points albeit against teams not doing very well.

Our initial allocation of 640 has now been sold on restricted sale and we have requested the additional 400. So it looks like it will be a complete sellout. Your first of the season ?
I think we've had a handful of complete sell-outs but most of our games have been home sell-outs.
