Absolutely. Phil Edwards and Shane Sherrif were both competent and reliable for Dale. Good pros, who never let anyone down, but no worldbeaters. And Lucas Akins has done very well since not being taken on after a trial spell in summer 2010. Three good lads who I wish every success to.

Brewers v Sheep would be a hell of a Derby match - come on Burton!!
Dream game for us ! thanks for the good will message ! Patronisingly the sheep seem to like us doing well Albion fans are about 50/50 strangely towards them. Me and the rest" conna stand em". It will be interesting if we do go up and manage to beat them(please, please, please) to see how their attitudes change.

We still have the best away record in the league so give the lads at least a chance.

Hope you are right mate. Our away form is extraordinary. Just feels very 'balloon burst' at the moment doesn't it? Everything heading in one direction - against us.

Wigan and Burton look like getting top two comfortably now, the rest of us are cocking it up.

Bradford will finish in the top 6 as well with one of ourselves, Gillingham or Walsall dropping out

Us and Walsall are having a battle to be 'biggest bottlejobs of the year'.

We are in the shit so to speak.
Losing at home to Fleetwood, and deservedly so proves we are not good enough or consistent enough to go up.
As I said in another thread Mowbray made it clear its a two year plan for us to get out of this league and be good enough to hold our own in the league above.
It's just that the league is so poor that we might do it a year before, but looking at our side atm we would need to replace the whole squad to even have a chance of finishing one place above the championships relegation zone

We are wank and are put together by a clueless dullard who has contradicted everything he said when he took over.

9 wins and 2 draws in the last 15 games maybe left it too late after crippling injuries earlier in the season but we are making a good go for the 6th spot although after being bottom in November I would take mid table mediocracy now.

10th Sheff Utd(33) - 48 points. Burton(H), Fleetwood(A), Oldham(H), Millwall(A), Crewe(H)

Burton see their lead at the top cut to 2. Still got a 6 point cushion over Gillingham in 3rd though. Big test for them with 3 straight away games, 4 in 5. 3 of them are tricky tests as well. Their promotion mettle about to be put fully to the test. Wigan continue to roll on, easily swept aside Bury. Do they have any more to prove, or shall we just engrave their name on the league one trophy now?

Gills lost only their 2nd game at home, but it was to Chesterfield, which is a bad result for them. Their small squad looks like it might be feeling the pace, to be expected at this stage I think. Walsall are another that are finding it tough at the moment. Do they have the legs to last in the promotion race with the teams below them slowly catching up? Millwall are still a bit off those teams above them, only lost 1 in their last 9 though. Back to back home games though, what will those 2 return? Coventry lost to Fleetwood. They aren't making the top 6 are they? Can't believe they are blowing this, they should have enough firepower to cope with that dodgy defence. Not looking good for them at all.

Bradford have suddenly exploded, 10 points from their last 4 has put them right behind Coventry in 6th. Will they be in a play off spot come Wednesday morning? Southend have seen their momentum dip with 3 straight away losses. Few home games coming up, chance to pick up some form though. Barnsley continue to close the gap after yet another win. Rising fast with all these wins. Massive 3 games coming up for them now. Sheff U lost, because of course they did, they won the previous game. They just don't look like promotion material, bit criminal really given their budget.

Other than Wigan for that top spot/top 2, I think the rest is wide open. Burton could slip into the play offs, Walsall and Gills don't look all that secure all of a sudden. Millwall are gaining ground, Coventry are dropping like a stone. Barnsley, Southend and Bradford all smelling blood. Last 13/14 games are going to be very exciting I think.

Our defence hasn't even been bad this year for the most part. Balance of the team for whatever reason hasn't been right for a while now for whatever reason.

Murphy has 10 goals but has been playing like a bag of shite for 3 months now and it's like playing 10 men but he never gets dropped, Cole can dominate some matches but seems to be off the pace against the teams who play at a fast tempo and get in your face. Armstrong keeps trying hard but getting no help from teammates at the moment.

Murphy has been woeful for so long.

I cannot fully understand why we have been so poor, the team on paper is brilliant and on their day are one of the top sides in the division.

Been there, done that. No matter who you are lose 10 first teamers as we did for the best part of 3 months and you're fecked.

There's a few teams wobbling at the moment

If we drop out of the top six from this position we need fucking shooting. Eight points from our next four and we're there I think.

Our home form is all that's keeping us up there, and we've only won one of the last three at home with some good teams still to visit Priestfield with Cov, Walsall and Millwall all to come.

Murphy has been poor ever since he was shifted over to the right. Whole team didn't look arsed today, turned up thinking they'd already won.

Haha oh man, Wigan at home on Tuesday? Either we're going to get smashed, or we'll do 'em by the odd goal, since we may be able to do our away setup at home.

Hopefully Dack won't be out for too long, injuries are hitting us hard, which I think we could all see coming with having such a small squad.

Top 2 is now a pipe dream, looks like burton and wigan may have them spaces sewn up already. Still think wigan will win it and with their squad anything else would be a disappointment.

I don't think Burton have it wrapped up at all - I think Millwall are the team to watch for 2nd.

Not sure, think Milwall have given themselves too much to do. They probably need 11 wins from the last 13 games which will be too big of an ask

We have a useful cushion but we need a bit of quality in on loan in the creative areas as the squad is small and any serious injuries could jeopardise our hopes, we were very limited yesterday but solid at the back. Wigan have still got to come to the Pirelli. An interesting week ahead.

Wigan will win the league by ten points. The rest of us are just so average in comparison.
Barnsley to get in the play offs.
Millwall to challenge us gills and Walsall for second.
Where we come is anyone guess.need to use the loan market and quick before we Peter out

Wigan really aren't that good.
The whole league really isn't that good.

Wigan though, they are the modern day equivalent of building a house on sand. Next year their parachute payments run out and they likely won't be able to afford the significant investment needed to really compete in the Championship. I don't think Caldwell is that good a manager, think he's been bailed out by a big budget, a handful of really good players and poor competition. I think they'll be back in L1 pretty soon with their crowds and budget over the next couple of years.

To be honest I am not all that worried about Wigan or anybody else. It is what we do that matters. Nigel Clough has some loan targets in mind and I trust him to get in the cover we need not just in case we get any serious injuries but also to improve us going forward. Obviously we have not been in a position to throw money at it like Wigan.
I don't even think of next season, if we get promoted we will be the smallest club to ever compete at that level and I have no idea how we will do it but I know a man that does, chairman Ben Robinson !

Personally, I don't think that at all. Anything less automatics this year would be awful considering the money we have spent, as we have had an advantage over the other teams. But we have built a very good team here and have made more than 60+ changes in the last two years. This squad is very new and only just starting to gel as you can see in recent results. Wigan are in a very good place financially and the team are starting to look very strong. I think it's now a matter of how many points we will win the league by, not if. On Caldwell, I do agree and I think that we will find more out about him when he is tested next year. I don't think that we would come straight down, if anything I think we would push for the playoffs again. We have had a full rebuild from top to bottom at Wigan and the feel good factor has now returned. I think we will see this season out with ease and then carry our momentum into next season. Millwall tomorrow will be our toughest challenge yet in my opinion.
