Lol I remember most Bradford fans wanted Parkinson out after our game in the cup. Fickle fans. Pretty obvious all they were lacking was someone who could score for them.

Back to back promotions to the PL is good by anyone's standards. And 2 promotions with Scunthorpe from L1.

Didn't say mention anything about his achievements with Scunthorpe (his side beat us at Wembley and played good football), but that Southampton side reaching the Premier League was inevitable. They had too much quality and money behind them.

It came across as you saying his achievements (in general) are made to be greater than they are

Not greater than they are, but he has done well when he has inherited squads that were already very good. He did well to replace Sharp and Keogh at Scunthorpe, though.

Scunny have done well considering they've changed managers 2/3 times - trying to copy us?
I wish we could copy you in many ways. You have done fantastically well and congrats on a very good season. Pity about Palace though.

Changing managers is not necessarily a bad thing. I know most pundits laud longevity as a good thing, but I am not convinced. It is much harder to achieve success, than maintain it and our Chairman is not afraid of making a decision in the best interest of the business. For some supporters, he is very slow to react to the obvious and while I fall into that group, I do understand that there other factors involved in hiring and firing. I have done that in my life and it is not easy.

The Chairman wants us back in the Championship, quickly and with sustainability. A big ask. He is following the path of horses for courses. Robins to keep us up, which he did last season; Daws and Dawson to stabilize and secure a mid-table position; Alexander to assess the squad and build for a promotion push next season. The Chairman has made some good decisions regarding management in moving the club forward.

Your forum says different.
Well I guess if a dozen or so misguided fans on a forum state foolishly that they want Parky out then you must be right. Even if in reality 99% of our 18,000 regulars have never been anything other than totally behind him. After the 10 years of freefalling dross we suffered from leaving the Premier he has given a dying club its soul back. I personally wouldn't swap him for Nigel Adkins or any of the other 70 FL managers.

Thinking back to City's promotion 3 years ago, you might manage it this season!

Our success comes mostly due to sorting our defense out. It's been absolute years since we've had a good defense, a lot of this is due to most managers deciding to play Niall Canavan. We've finally (albeit on loan) got rid of that absolute waste of space and time and built a strong defense. We brought in Murray Wallace on loan from Huddersfield and he was an absolute revalation, ended up signing him permanently in January and he hasn't had a bad game since. We've also stopped swapping and changing our RB (mostly due to injury but still) and we're always playing Jordan Clarke there and he is an absolutely magnificent player, one of the best Full Backs I've ever seen play for us, some games he runs the show from RB. Alexander also plays Hakeeb Adelakun who is by far our most dangerous player, Robins didn't want to play him weirdly.

Canavan has been steady enough for us, until he picked up a knock a couple of weeks ago.

Wouldn't be too surprised if we signed him on a permanent deal this summer.

I've said it before about Parkinson, his style of football isn't great to watch but he gets results and his ability to build a solid defence is unquestionable. If Bradford had a 20 goal striker to go with it, they'd be flying. That's why I maintain that should they go up via the playoffs, they will do as well as PNE have this season should they find that striker.

Not sure it's a 'must', plus they're very hard to find on a modest budget. Our best source of goals has only managed three starts this season due to a knee operation but we've still managed a top half finish.

I think our promotion team was a fair bit better than Bradford's current side but I agree in principle, teams who go up and expect nice, attacking football to get results on a regular basis will be disappointed. Solidity and organisation gets you the points.

Will be hoping that Fleetwood get something at the Biscuit tin today which I am sure you can understand Saddlers but I will be rooting for you in the play offs. Soft spot for the Saddlers for reasons I have stated previously and it would be great to play our closest neighbours next season in the championship.

Walsall will win today 2 0.
Makes the last day more interesting too - especially if we fall behind at donny.

Fleetwood have been pathetic but credit Walsall: they've been very good.

Good side Walsall but this must be one of the easiest games they've ever had.

Expected result. Well done saddlers for taking it to the wire.
You never know do you.
Who would have thought Colchester would have got a point at oakwell, and who would have known Dagenham would have won at Plymouth. When a team is relegated there is no pressure anymore so donny may play better. We have to be on our game.
Only consulation is vale are no mugs at home ( except when we won 4 0 ) so they may do us a favour if we implode.

Good result, good performance. Just wish we'd had a little bit more spark to really try and batter them at 3-0, we had some good openings but I was surprised at our lack of attempt to really drive at them and score 5/6. Goes to the final day then, all in Burton's hands.

So we're more or less guaranteed to play Bradford in the playoffs. Ugh. That said, we have a decent record against West Yorkshire sides come playoff time.

Good win and a good performance for 80 odd minutes.

Shows how good of a team we are when the right team is picked. When we pick a positive and attacking team we are a pain for any team to deal with, when we pick a defensive team we revert to mid table obscurity.

I hope Doncaster win but I still think it's play offs for us.
