Absolutely zero chance of the EFL wanting to suspend relegation, as I’ve said before, why would you make half of a whole division pointless in carrying on? (Much like the position the NL finds itself in now)

But, what happens with clubs like Dover now?

Shots board so far staying schtum about which way they voted. Rumour and noises off indicate that we may well have voted N&V.

I have a feeling we were one of the two clubs that hasn't yet voted. Shahid said on our midweek show last Thursday that under the current terms of the loan, we'd vote null and void, but that we hadn't voted yet. But it didn't sound like a situation where we'd refuse to play if the majority wanted to play on.

Can see national league clubs signing players from the south/north on loan for the rest of the season
Wrexham in shambles, we're not allowed to do that.

Why not declare your vote then is your Chairman on the National league board by any chance.

One of the leagues has to absorb a lack of relegation. It would have been North and South had they not been voided. It does effect the integrity of a competition but we just need to muddle on through and get 2 names out of here and into the FL to keep the consistent link between the NL and FL.

Lets just hope we have proper football back next season. That's all I'm arsed about. None of this season has been proper football. Get the fans back in, no votes on cancelling leagues. 40 odd games, go and watch a bit of football, see where you end up and take it on the chin where your team finishes. Life goes on.

A bit sad seeing certain teams celebrating staying up at this level because of this, I feel for the teams in the step below.

We will definitely carry on with the season and certainly will not go down the Dover route. I can see us furloughing our contracted players and using non contract players from NLS or RL but not academy kids as it would be unfair on them.

I wouldn’t be too sorry about teams in the level below, many of the successful ones are spunking money away on full time teams which are not sustainable at that level.

H&W owe their owner over 500k, which is a secured loan. They have accumulated losses of over £3m. That’s before this season is taken into account. Dorking are a one man show in Marc White.

Why is it sad seeing teams celebrate staying up (benefitting from the decision).
Isn't this all based on self preservation?

As a Barnet supporter im delighted by the fact we will not be playing in the National South....thats not to say Flowers wouldn't of turned it around.

Of course its a sickner if you are flying high below like Dorking and Gloucester. Honestly I really couldn't give a monkeys as long as my team is looked after.

Dorking man’s giving a ‘live update’ on their Twitter at 10am and, judging by some of the stuff they’re retweeting, it’s going to be essential viewing. :shut:

one way or another that's gonna open a big can of worms.....

They're clearly targeting the top NL clubs and threatening them with "if we don't get promoted then nobody does" to get the NL clubs to turn on the league board. Ugly.

It’s all a bit toys out of the pram from Dorking, but I have some degree of sympathy. All a result of the NL insisting on a black and white outcome, rather than trying to come up with a creative solution that could keep more clubs happy.

I don't like the way they're going about it but there's no reason why there shouldn't at least be promotion spots to replace Macclesfield and Dover and a mini league would be a sensible way of doing that.

yep - that's more or less how i see it - and they're saying look EFL where's the integrity at here?
I think he's mainly trying to get the NLS back playing as - as a division they voted continue, which would have a knock on effect of 2 relegation places from the NL - or rather 1 as Macclesfield will count as the other 1.

This, basically. Even if it’s just the one spot to fill the vacant place left by Macclesfield, I can’t see what the argument against having some kind of ongoing tournament would be. No one loses and it keeps many more people happy.

I can fully understand why they're miffed. Not idea how much clout they have but they could ruffle a few feathers depending on how many other clubs back them

Gloucester City also starting legal action against the outcome, albeit on the basis that they (unsurprisingly) want promotion from Step 2 still.

Imagine you'll also have York City and AFC Fylde supporting this and/or Dorking's legal action at the very least.

Agree. It doesn't feel like proper football to me, it just isn't football without the fans. I would not be bothered in the slightest if this league was null and voided as well right now to be honest. It's just a shit-show.

What is Dorking anyway?

If it is top of one of the leagues below this then they are clearly tinpot shite who have come from absolutely nowhere backed by unsustainable money. Evil, if you will.

I wouldn't either as a spectacle but we need to keep that link between the FL and the NL for the future of the pyramid. If this division doesn't have two promotion sides then the FL would have to absorb no relegation and the relationship between the two would be at nil. Not good for the future of clubs like ours who want to get back in the FL in the next couple of years.

Dartford aren't happy either, based on these quotes from the statement they published today:

"The result, in simple terms, was that out of 64 member clubs, 40 voted to carry on and 24 wanted the season to end.
This just goes to show that the league rules are flawed, where a vast minority of clubs can defeat the majority opinion."

I'm just trying to catch up with all this.

So NLN voted to End and NLS voted to continue, but both have to stop because of the structure of the votes.

I think NLS clubs have a valid argument and should be allowed to continue and fill the spots of Macc and Dover.

Now to look forward to Marc White having a meltdown on twitter
I'm still unsure on what basis these legal challenges come from?

It was threatened all the time in the EFL, most notably by McAnthony (and then Palios for differing reasons), but he presumably then realised that he'd in effect be suing actual Club's rather than the EFL as they're the members who ultimately vote on the decision.

How much did South Shields piss up the wall last season on failed legal challenges? £200k, £300k?

And now Dorking want to crash and burn the whole NL.

Why would the EFL support them and get involved in something that has nothing to do with them?!
