Come on, all rivalry aside, you were dreadful against us - second half especially. Very timid.
Yes we were terrible in the second half.
Totally capitulated but I don't remember the first half being so bad.
I haven't watched it back again!

Rivalry aside, I'd say when we scored after 15 minutes there only looked like one winner. Had Matt Taylor's effort on the stroke of half time gone in, you couldn't have complained, and we would have beaten you comprehensively.

What then happened was something that explained much about or brittle state at the time. You lobbed the big man up front and we stopped pushing forward. Our keeper had been poor all season and you could almost sense the nerves spreading through the team with only a one goal advantage. Our three substitutes all had very poor games and the ball didn't stick up front after they came on. But even then with ten minutes to go, I thought "this has been a crap second half, but we'll take the 1-0 and move on." I won't pretend that I was anything other than apoplectic when you pulled one back with five minutes to go. There isn't a word in the dictionary to describe how I felt when Eastwood handed you the winner in injury time!

Having said all of that, it was a seminal moment. Eastwood has been dropped (something that should have happened a few weeks earlier) our defence has settled down, and in front of them our old fluidity from last season has returned, resulting in much improved performances and results, plus our rise up the table. We also now have a nearly fit squad, which wasn't the case at the time.

It was a shit day, made worse by having to watch it remotely. It obviously can't be proved, but I don't think that result would have happened with a crowd in the ground. The fact I'm writing this now though means I've dealt with it, compartmentalised it in my brain, and your continuing struggles are a comfort. We've played Northampton and Burton since you and put 4 and 5 past them. I'd say you're at their level, so in the words of the Germans in Fawlty Towers "How did we lose to these?"

Looking forward to putting it right in March. He who laughs last...............

Disappointing that 1 of our 40 tests was positive for Covid.
A member of support staff in the training ground so hopefully our Covid protocols will prevent this passing between the staff and squad.

To put that into perspective, all players and coaching staff were negative. But one person who works at the training ground tested positive and it appears that person has not come into contact with any players or coaching staff.

40 positives in the latest round of testing in the PL.

Fancy a guess on how many in the EFL?

Me too! So even with the money the PL are averaging 2 per club.

I reckon the EFL will be at least double that x 72. Nearly 300.

Was expecting a huge number too, but the only reports I'd noticed earlier today was that we were all negative and likewise at Grimsby so perhaps it won't be quite as bad as I'd expected.

Who are they testing and what are the percentages? Like the PL could potentially test as many staff between them as the entire football league. Also, what is the xPs (expected positive rate).... I mean some bedroom analytic must have done the calculation on Twitter by now.

A story going round that clubs will be testing regularly using the lateral flow tests. Which makes sense.

Just over 3,500 tested so running at around 3%, which is higher than the PL (less than 1%, I think?).

Not all Club's appear to have been done though, wonder why that is?

Ours have all been given the all clear but given they should have been self isolating I would have been disappointed if any had.

We have four, a mixture of players and staff.

We'll see how many of those four are players tomorrow because we barely fill a bench most weeks so won't take too much working out.

I dunno if this is the right thread, or if there is a finance in covid thread or anything, but our chairman went on a podcast the other day - Thomas reveals scale of Cobblers' revenue losses due to pandemic

Ultimately, we expect to have lost about £3 million of income due to covid and match-day restrictions, and the Premiership bail-out will cover around £500,000 of that.

I suspect that most of our clubs will be in the same boat mate.
Perhaps some of our moron fans that have spent years calling for our chairman’s head because he hasn’t been spending what we don’t have may just end up grateful that he is a ‘tight arse’ after all.

Oh yeah, for sure. We're lucky enough to have got a £1m up front for Goode, plus a £190,000 and a TV tie from the FA Cup last year to tide it over for a bit, but it does make me wonder how clubs without a transfer windfall or sugar daddy this year will be feeling it.

Interesting that Artell reckons we’re still in the best financial position we’ve been in for years, and in a position to hold out for good offers for players, when we rejected Cardiff’s offer for Ng this week. Not sure how, or if it’s just relative to before we got rid of the leech Norman Hassall as majority shareholder.

There was a one-off £375k for L1 Club's and then a figure based on lost gate receipts so I can't imagine you've only been given £125k for that.

Apparently, someone at our club is having to put £380,000 per month into the club to keep us afloat. Penny to a pound of pig shit it ain’t Power’s money. Obviously we’ve had the bail out money and the Jayden Bogle sell on fee but there’s no way fans will be back this season so by the time next season starts we’ll need about another £3m to keep going.

Was talking last night to a family member, and Argyle fan, who is a local GP who believes that we may have played our last game for a while yesterday. I am not saying they are right, in fact I suspect they are wrong with the precise prediction, but it does indicate the view of one sports mad health professional who thinks things are getting out of control. Very worrying.

What do people think of Chorley’s celebrations in their changing room yesterday? Personally think they were absolutely ludicrous, and I would go as far as to kick them out of the competition. Chorley are part time, these people have day jobs. A very good chance that was a spreader event.

They have done it every round so guess it’s deemed ok.

Sure if a higher team questions might be asked .

Surely they’re tested before the matches too? But, yes, you’re right it doesn’t seem the best way to behave right now (putting it mildly).

Perhaps kicking them out of the competition is a TAD extreme. But very irritating to see. Football is treading a fine line right now. It needs to convince the government to be able to carry on. Restrictions will be tightened in the coming days. The government have started briefing it. Scenes like yesterday will not help one bit.

*Already out of control.

Shit's going to get very real in the next 7-14 days.
