You tell me, you seem to know everything.
What I do know is that the stadium cost more than we spent in 11 years, which tells you all you need to know. Yes they get good crowds now, but before they moved they were getting about 300

It was my understanding that the council helped them out, but I don't know.

Perhaps a Maidstone fan could enlighten us.

Mr Kleanthous has spent £30m on Barnet, but their fans don't believe they're bankrolled.

I remember them getting a grant turned down, which I think played a part in them changing ownership a few years ago. A quick google shows they got a £150,000 grant from The Football Stadia Improvement Fund but that's pretty insignificant given the stadium cost almost £3,000,000.

Laughable that people can say we're bankrolled really - under 1/4 million per year and most of that has gone on paying off debts (which we only have ourselves to blame for)

I'd pay to watch the Cowley's faces if that point they lost at Guiseley costs them a play off spot.

Tranmere and I have a gut feeling for Wrexham

No he hasn't. I thought we had schooled you off this tiresome rubbish you kept peddling about us last season.

In fairness, Maidstone were playing some distance out of town at that time hence the small crowds.

Does that explain their 198 average in 2001 at London Road in Maidstone? Either way shows they clearly didn't fund it themselves through high gates

I think we need a Stones fan to clear this one up but wasn't London Road more or less just a parks pitch with the Stones playing at Kent County League Division 2 level?

Yes but only because they let their old club die. They weren't interested. Now they've got a shiny new ground and cash they're all interested. The cash has brought the fans in not the other way around

Also, on a side note why is your club getting smaller gates now than a few years ago when you were at a lower level?!

That doesn't quite follow as the old club died in 1992.

I'm sure Dover will be fine when Jim leaves in the summer.

Jim's going nowhere, although our gates would probably increase if he did leave.

Our gates are shit, but we don't spend that much so it's not that relevant to the conversation

Come on... Whilst you may not be spending a fortune - Deverdics, Miller and Modeste don't play for a tenner and a packet of quavers ffs

We have a lot of cup money saved, and I guess that's why Jim is so desperate to go up ASAP

Modeste has been with us for years, he has no experience at a higher level, he won't be on loads.

Look at Deverdics' previous clubs- won't have been on much last year, maybe this season though.

Miller won't be on as much as he deserves because of his personal circumstances when we signed him

We lost 2 points at Guiseley not 1. Interesting that we are in this thread as pre season about 99% of the posters on here had us as relegation fodder. Beat Gateshead tomorrow and we really have a good chance of making the play offs. PS. We have no fear of any one, we are made of IRON!

We say that most seasons, about it being about the next one, though you might not be saying the same thing if you had been in the league the best part of two decades. It hasn't always been enjoyable but certainly has been an emotional roller-coaster!

I know what you mean about the people and places, some have even been away and then returned, they must like us all so much!

No disrespect to Tranmere - but I hope you lot don't go straight back up.....
you fans won't appreciate the Football League unless you've taken at least 4 or 5 seasons to get back up...
just ask Luton fans (or Grimsby and Lincoln ones)

But not Gasheads and in all probability Robins?
Think you'll get your wish as we don't have the vibe of a side destined for an immediate return.

Iron, don't you mean tinpot?

The quotient of it in that statement makes me want to vom.
Vom away all you like crazy, we are still likely to be nearer the play offs than you, and with probably a budget about a third of yours. Consider yourselves fortunate that you played us twice early in the season before we got in to our stride.

Or before your pitch turned into a swamp

Fortunate, wow. You were garbage and we outplayed you very comfortably both times. No sweat. It's a given we get six points off you, not a question.

We'll see if you have the stomach to play two/three times per week consistently in the run-in before making any statements re play-offs.

If we're still here next year, it won't be the sides we are playing that will bother me. It will be the abysmal officiating and the subsequent effect it has on some sides style of play (cough***Eastleigh*****Cough*****Dover*****Cough).

Bizarrely we had no problems with Eastleigh, probably because we scored first and it was then hilarious to watch them try to "impose themselves" on us/the referee thereafter.

Constable acting like a diva squaring up to Bradley Wood was a particular highlight - he'd be home with a limb missing had they squared up on the street.

You have an agenda bigger than TK's supposed spending. Ridiculous
