Surprise surprise - another 3 points for a top four team!

Absolutely relentless. I defy anyone to find another year where so many teams have ended a league campaign so strongly. It'd be interesting to see how many combined points have been picked up by the top four over the last 8-10 games. Must be crazily high.

I was wondering that myself since you asked!

Last ten games for top 4:

Bournemouth W7 D3 L0 F23 A6 Pts 24
Norwich W7 D2 L1 F19 A7 Pts 23
Watford W7 D2 L1 F21 A9 Pts 23
Middlesbrough W6 D0 L4 F13 A11 Pts 18

And that is why we dropped from 5 clear at the top to 5th and out of the picture. Starts from the Fulham game, which is where the bad run began.

I wouldn't fancy us against you guys TBH just knowing you've done us twice and so will know how to play us successfully.

Ipswich have picked up a bit despite not being very convincing at times by the looks of it, so it's likely we'll be playing them if we miss out on automatic.

I just hope they give us a better game than they did at the Vic if we meet again, the last encounter was frankly dire but credit to them for snuffing out our attacks and restricting the Championship top scorers to zero shots on target before getting what could prove to be a crucial goal during literally the dying seconds of the game when we over-committed ourselves for a winner.

Getting ahead of ourselves here but just to save any disappointment, without doubt that's exactly what we'll do (at least on the away leg) should we meet in the semi. (Unless scoreline dictates otherwise during the game). Might play with a little more freedom in the home.

Actually, Ipswich's run-in is tricky and Brentford could still clinch 6th place. Think it will depend a lot on how Ipswich get on at Wolves on Saturday.

Yeah, in all the predictions I've done, 6th place comes down to the game on Saturday. A draw and its brentfords, but the team that wins would get 6th!

Don't know, if you draw you could still get it, Reading away isn't an easy game as Bournemouth proved the other night, and with GD advantage you could even afford to lose it as long as you win your next two games.

I think you can count us out. We've only picked up 2 points from our last 3 games despite dominating them all. Just can't put away our chances at the moment, and are getting unlucky when conceding goals. Can't see us winning all 3 remaining games, and even if we did, Ipswich would effectively need to drop points in 2 of them.

If we had another striker, it might have been possible, but Gray has been terrible for a long time now and I don't see that changing in the next couple of games.

It's too hard to call at the moment, there's still so many factors. We haven't got the easiest fixtures, but I think I'd rather play teams who have nothing to play for. Wolves have got Millwall on the final day, which could be a really tough one if Millwall could still stay up.

I do agree that Wolves v Ipswich on Saturday is the key game though.

I'm not sold on the fact that we need to win on Saturday. Would be ideal obviously, but I think a point is a good result. I can't lie and say I'm overly concerned about our run-in anymore so than Brentford/Wolves/Derby's... the last two are still 2 games I expect us to win. Though we know it doesn't always work out like that!

Fascintating either way, great season.

Watford getting the job done under immense pressure last night, even if they did very nearly contrive to drop 2 drops against 10 men!

If only Forest hadn't missed that open goal to make it 2-2 late on.... :ffs:

I make it:
if Norwich win - Bournemouth & Watford finish top 2
if a draw - Bournemouth & Watford finish top 2
if Middlesbrough win - Bournemouth & Watford finish top 2

Just hoping either Town don't make the play-offs or we avoid each other in them. Don't think I could handle it.

Brighton have got Watford and Middlesbrough. Just a shame they've got a manager who is more defeatist than I am.

Fulham also. They play us and Middlesbrough. Watch them roll over and lose 12-0 to Middlesbrough then go and beat us 6-0 on the last day. Or something equally ridiculous.

Even with your recent record? It's grim reading for us.

A big question for us on Friday is can Tettey's knees cope with another game this week? Without him we're not anywhere near as good.

The times I've seen you this season, you've looked average at best so from that angle, I feel we should win if we met. But you're up there for a reason. Whether you play decent football or not, clearly you're capable of getting results.

As tedious as Town fans constantly living in the 70s can be, I'd rather like to keep it that way. :P1:

We've just got to keep playing him until his legs fall off. He can rest and recover in the summer.

Hate the thought of play-off's (should we make them) again.
Last year, we were playing free flowing, fast tempo and care free.

This season we play with a fear and regardless of what all team members and management are saying, we haven't learnt any lessons from last season in my opinion.

Any team that plays us (again, if we make the play-off's) will be happy.

Surely if he wasn't up to it, he wouldn't have played on Tuesday?
