If we play like we did against Ipswich then we can get a result. The bad news is Eustace will be our injured, the good news is Thorne could be ready by then ;)

But thinking, would Albentosa be a good DM? He looked very solid on the ball against Chesterfield and won pretty much all his tackles. If he can play there then we can use him at that position until Thorne is properly fit.

If you look back through Howe's time in both stints as manager, all of his sides have a habit of going on ridiculously good runs of form, then getting several defeats in a short space of time, and then going on another run of wins. It was especially the case in staying up in League Two and getting promoted up here from League One.

So if that cycle continues and it explains our recent tired performances and few defeats, how much longer does that continue before the up-surge comes? Can we cling onto the top positions and ride it out? Or does all that historical pattern go out the window at this lofty standard? No idea, but the results of Watford/Wigan/Derby will probably define our aims for the season's run-in.

I agree but I think that kermongant and Wilson should start up top together rather than pitman. I think you need someone who is good in the air more often than not, espically that Ritchie and pugh provide on the wings

Now Russell is out for up to six weeks. We'll use the Forest injury excuse if we don't go up. ;)

In theory I agree, but Yann has been a shadow of his former self for large spells this season, never looked consistent and has rarely affected games whereas he ran then at times last season.

Pitman on the other hand has been in superb form lately, he drops deep and makes space for Wilson. If Yann can rediscover his form then I'd love him and Wilson together but Pitman deserves his place on form, and I think age is sadly catching up on Yann, he's got probably one more season at this level, I just wish we had him a couple of years younger; could have been a legend here.

1st v 6th and 5th v 3rd - it's probably all going to change again. We've got an easy game on paper (Wigan at home) so hopefully we can take advantage.

I would think we can beat Cardiff, they are not that good at the moment. Hope Watford do us a favour on Friday.

Wouldn't you prefer a draw Friday? Watford are only four points behind you.

As for us, if we can get a result against Middlesbrough on Saturday then I will start believing we can get into the playoffs this season.

I don't mind really, either way it means we will go top and Bournemouth will drop points. A draw would be decent.

Bournemouth Watford and Boro Brentford need to be draws.

Hopefully we can get a win at Cardiff, but it's a tough place to go and we're rather prone to get thrashed there!

Derby 2-0 at Cardiff.

Not the best of weekend's for us (or Brentford).

Ipswich being held though.

Urgh. Sounds like it was a dreadful game too, don't know what's going on at the moment.

5 wins in 6 for us. A clean sheet in all 5 wins.

Shame for the blip against Forest.

Surprised at Ipswich being held at home. Otherwise it's as you were and onto the next one for Boro, Derby and Bournemouth.

Bolton at home for us next. They're better than they were, but it's a game we should be winning!

Dissapointing today, really feel we were worth a draw minimum. Wasn't impressed with Middlesbrough either, was expecting them to much better than they were today.

Think the top two are beyond us completely now. Have a feeling we're going to nick into 6th in the last couple of games.

Dreadful today, MM got it completely wrong today!
Ref was well out of his depth, but we were shocking.

With the gap between Blackburn and sixth now you would have to imagine that the top 6 will be made up from the current lot + Norwich and Wolves, can't imagine anyone else breaking in now.

Well Tuesday is huge, any sorts of points will be a success, but if we could win that would be brilliant.

What has happened to Ipswich recently? As soon as we had beaten them they have slid down, with even Sammon scoring against them today!

Lack of depth catching up with Ipswich?

Looks like it, and stubbornness from McCarthy. He knows we played 433 in our good run, and he has stuck with 442 for the last month. As well as having a RB at RB in the good run, not Chambers (CB).

Can see play offs disappearing if he doesn't do something.
