The effort was still there tonight, just a distinct lack of quality which is what most of the season has boiled down to. We have some poor poor players but it does highlight what an achievement it was from Simmo getting the 4 wins.

Maybe a reality check for the likes of Carver who think we’re safe. Thankfully most results went our way but defeat on Saturday at Barrow and it will be alarm bells again.

Well shoddycollins thought we were going to make the play offs.

Im more humble at least.

What impact may the charge against Rochdale have on this... possible points deduction?

I wouldn’t because we’d be safe then. Carver thinks we’re safe already.

I realise that we're not mathematically safe, but I feel very confident that we'll stay up with our inevitable hammering of Barrow being the match that effectively ends any doubt of us staying up.

Barrow 0-5 Carlisle

Easy and it will be goodbye to you shitty poor little non league club with that awful tinpot ground of yours.

I mean what on earth is that big ugly building right behind the goal? Looks as if it's a prison of some kind like a young offenders unit.

Carver will disappear without a trace if/when Barrow win and go above us.

Between Barrow, Stevenage and Oldham for the last spot

Another fantastic win. Paul Simpson has transformed our season. He has a crap squad but is getting results.

We’re not safe yet but Simmo has given us a great chance.

If we don't beat Orient next week, I think that's us gone. Everyone else we play after that (near enough) is in the play-off/promotion hunt.

Didn't realise how bad your run in is, Oldham's is just as bad and they've still got to make up 6 points on you, 7 with their awful GD.

It’s us who are going down. Had some real rotten luck with injuries, suspensions, penalty misses and officials in the past few weeks which has killed all momentum. Got a real tough run-in too, the rest of you can put your feet up

There's not a chance we are winning that. Witnessing that today and eventually scraping past a Scunthorpe side that were absolutely bummed today makes me think that we aren't winning another game all season.

People are saying Cooper's post match was strange, really can't be arsed watching it.

One from Barrow, Stevenage or Oldham now, sadly for Scunny that’s not even a conversation any more. I still think Barrow will eke out a few points from somewhere to limp over the line. Surprised they’ve done as badly as they have this season though, did think their moves in the summer were showing some progress but apparently not. Felt Stevenage for a while would be the one to drop and their goal difference is also the worst.

Carlisle if they don’t get another single point this season are now safe. It’s over.

Felt a bit sorry for Oldham yesterday. We were the better side, but when your luck is against you you end up missing penalties, although I think it was a fantastic save. Don't think they are down yet though, still enough quality to get something out of games to come. Hopefully we can help by beating Stevenage next week.
I don't buy the bad luck with injuries though, its affecting all teams at the moment - we lost three midfielders yesterday and goodness knows who will be playing at Vale- maybe Devon Lad will be getting a call up?
The support there is fantastic though and hope they stick with the team over the last ten games.

well if Devon Lad gets a call up nobody will take any notice of him - so he'd probably drift into the box and score... and it would probably be the 1st time he'd ever done that.....

Bad luck within the context of the situation we’re in. Under an embargo which only allows a limited number of players in the squad with a cap on wages for new signings. A squad cobbled together by an absent owner and his idiotic sporting director brother. Meaning when anyone from the first 11 gets injured or suspended, the replacements wouldn’t cut it in most Sunday teams.

We had no centre forward at the club until January. Shez signed one, much to the derision of other fans, he scored twice in 75 mins and then out for the season. Back to square one again. Injuries are part and parcel of the game of course but just when we needed luck on our side in that respect, we didn’t get it.

Think we're safe now, we have totally turned a corner under wellens, still only 5 games into his tenure but we look a completely different team, obviously we're still beatable but I wouldn't want to play us in the next few games.
Really hope Barrow stay up, cracking away day and proper club but sadly, looking at their run in, unless Brown can do something, I think they'll drop.
Stevenage have the easiest set of fixtures, they get so lucky every year i swear, would much prefer them to drop.
Can't help but feel it's a 3 horse race now for that final spot.

it's 4 really - Oldham, Stevenage, Barrow and Colchester - anyone above that is safe.
Oldham and Stevenage play each other next week - If Oldham don't win that then 2 wins and we're safe. Orient could do with resting their 1st team (and reserves) on Saturday as a reward for being safe though.
