What odds can I get on Carlisle going down from league 2 next season?

There must be some kind of acca you can do where they’re just relegated from the same division eternally but never leave?

The elitism shown by League 2 fans towards the Conference is the same thing they accuse Premier League fans of.

Non-league is great.
I did enjoy some of the away games in the first season.
Ebbsfleet,Borehamwood etc,it was a change from the norm, but the novelty soon wore off.
As for what was happening on the pitch at times,no thanks.

9 of the teams in the National league (11 if you include Yeovil and Barnet) are football league clubs on hard times. That alone shows how tough it is to get out off.

It's not quite the same as it used to be. You rarely see the really small teams stick around for more than a season so it's not as much of a culture shock as it once was.

Our 15 point gap over 2nd bottom down to 12 after Tuesday night.

Defeats against Tranmere and Exeter over the next week could further shrink that gap if other teams pick up points.

The sooner we’re mathematically safe the sooner I can sleep easy.

Stevenage aren’t going to win 4 and draw 1 of 8 even if you lost every game now! And if they did Oldham won’t in their 7!

Probably not, but we’ve just won 6 of our last 8 after being winless for the 9 games previous and 2nd bottom of the league.

Stranger things have happened than Stevenage and Oldham winning 4 games.

As i say, I won’t rest easy until we’re mathematically safe.

Christ if you're losing sleep over a 12 point gap the rest of us cloggers should be clinically deceased.

Maybe the conference isn’t as much of a hell hole in your eyes as you’ve spent more than a season of your history in it. But that year we had down there is an experience I never want to go through again and until we’re mathematically safe and there isn’t even a 1% chance of going down, the thought of it will still haunt me.

As things stand with scores the way they are, Oldham will close the gap with us to 9 points, Stevenage will remain 12 points behind but with a game in hand and a favourable run of fixtures including a game against us. Barrow will be 6 behind with a game in hand.

Port Vale’s turnaround makes todays draw not quite as damaging as it could have been.

Poor result for Stevenage but they have some easy games remaining where you’d expect them to pick up points.

Oldham now have a tough run but have some momentum behind them.

It’s looking quite bleak for barrow.

Think that's Carlisle as good as down with us

They may be 12 points clear but its obvious every team below them will win all their remaining games and Carlisle will lose all of theirs
I don’t think every team will win all theirs, but I wouldn’t be surprised at all if we don’t win another game this season the way we’re playing.

We should stay up, but until it’s mathematically certain I’m not ruling us out.

Stevenages next 3 games are Colchester (A), Rochdale (H) and Scunthorpe:- who could already be down by then - not looking good at all for us :(

Feels like our next home game against Forest Green is our best chance of a win now!

We're not going to pick up many points at all in the run-in, so our only hope now is that Stevenage keep getting beaten.

Stevenage won’t be staying up with that chump in charge. He got us in a mess and apart from shouting at people he hasn’t got a clue how to change things. If there was going to be a new manager bounce (there’s a fatty Evans joke in there somewhere), it would have started already.

Remarkable the difference now (even though we lost today) with a proper manager in charge.

Edit: but yeah Carlisle are fucked obvs

Leave it out are you seriously saying 47 points could get you relegated?..and theres no chance you arent picking up any points from the games left
Bottom 4 are the only ones in danger of the drop. 40 points will probably be enough to stay up, Stevenage wont pick up many points imo.
You lot are safe as houses, get the sun loungers out.

The probability of Carlisle dropping is well below 0.0001%. Such a small chance that the numerical simulations haven't included them in the relegation mix for weeks.

There's more chance of me hooking up with Jada Pinkett-Smith and dodging the subsequent right hooks from my wife and Will.

Carlisle are 500/1 to be relegated, so I suggest HG sticks a tenner on that and lives like a king whilst watching National League football next season...

He's just special, you know.

At first I thought he was only winding people up, but I think he genuinely believes that we're in real danger of going down..

I know you’re not the sharpest tool in the box carver, but fuck me I thought you’d be able to at least read.

Only a few posts up I said “we should stay up”. How that equates to me genuinely believing we’re in real danger of going down in your fragile mind is anyone’s guess.

I’m simply not ruling us out until we’re safe, as is our manager.

Well then, you could at least stop slagging the team off so much.

Since Simmo took charge I have belief in this team to be capable of getting a result against anyone in this league now.
It may not be pretty at times and yes we leave it late quite often, but come on we're way better than what we were before in terms of team spirit and not giving up etc

Sure, they're not that good quality wise which is why they're playing for us, but they don't deserve the kind of criticism that you post on here.

Apart from Tuesday night at Rochdale and most of the Tranmere game, I haven’t been critical of the teams attitude and spirit, in fact I’ve praised it as miraculous in this very thread. Yes I’ll criticise the quality because a lot of them aren’t good enough for this level and I hope to god we have a clear out in the summer to get rid of it.

At Rochdale and particularly at 1-1 in the Tranmere game I thought the poor attitude and lazy performances were starting to creep back in. I hope with a full weeks training we are back on it for Saturday like we were in the Bristol Rvs game.

With the right attitude and a good manager like simmo, even our players can get results, but they are also capable of going into their couldn’t give a fuck mode which boils my piss.
