Cambridge v FGR on the final day could either be one of the most depressing dead rubbers of all time, a "fuck it, we're relegated, let's party" day, or perhaps even CUFC scrapping for final day salvation, such is the beauty of the relegation dogfight and its ability to go right to the wire.

Surely Oxford aren't shit enough to be in the dogfight on the final day, but if they are, OUFC v Accy could be a humdinger.

FGR must be gone, surely - they've just not shown any signs of turning things around, and they have some really tough games in their run-in, but I think pretty much anyone else has got a chance still.

I don't think Fleetwood are seriously in this, but that's a shitter of a run-in, with 3 final games vs teams likely to have plenty to play for.

4 of Burton's last 5 are potentially horrible, with a potential massive relegation six-pointer on the final day v MKD.

Cambridge's run-in is pretty shit too.

Good luck everyone, you're going to need it.

I think the target for safety will be around 46 points. On that basis unfortunately for them I don’t see any way out of it for FGR. The other spots are all up in the air.

It’s possible Oxford could get sucked in. Just seems a lot wrong there at the moment and once you’re in a rut it’s difficult to get out of it. I do believe the manager is the problem though and removing him would solve a lot of issues.

We'll be doing well if we get two points from the first six games on that list. The trapdoor is already open.

Don't rule us out we are dropping like a stone we have some tough games coming up after losing all the 'easier' ones. There is always one that plummets

I mean, you’re not wrong, but I don’t think the run-in makes that much difference in FGR’s case, they’ve just never looked like turning it round.

They play us soon for their usual 3 points

No there is that, they’ve kind of gone all scatter gun approach in January with signings which rarely works either. (As we’ve done in the past)

I hadn’t looked at our run in until now. We’ll be down before Easter.

Hell of a final run-in for FGR but even before that, if you're the lowest scorers in the league and have the worst defence, it's never going to end well.

It'll be close for the remaining three spots and it'll be interesting to see whether Oxford are sucked in to it. 7 points off having played one, two or three games more than those around them.

We've got to play 7 of the 9 below us and you'd like to think another three wins will see us safe or ticking over with draws as we seem to be doing!

The last four don't look too bad in comparison...but by then it could well be a case of us beating teams and relegating them too!

The silver lining for us is that the only team the bottom teams can beat... is us. And we only play FGR out of the bottom 7

...please can you change the habit of a season and beat the lot of them...but let us go down having at least done a double on someone!

I will go for:
FGR, Morecambe and Cambridge to go down for sure. They’re all just not very good and will be relegated for that very simple and obvious reason. And the last spot to be Cheltenham (unfortunately as I’ve a real soft spot for the place).

MK were the worst team we’ve played this season at our ground but will find a way to stay up (starting by getting a point against us Saturday at their place probably). Accy always find the results to stay afloat when they need them. I’m confident theyll be fine. Their manager knows exactly what to do for them in the big games come April and May. And the likes of Lincoln, Exeter and Burton have shown enough to be fine. Same with Fleetwood. Oxford surlely cannot go down with that squad. It would be the best squad to be in league 2 ever I would think but as soon as they sack Robinson, they’ll be ok. Who knows what the hell is going on there for him to still be in the job. So by process of elimination, I ended up with Cheltenham as the final team to get the drop.

We’ve won 9 out of our last 50 league games going back to last season. There is pretty much no chance we’ll win anything like enough games in our next 13 to even finish in the dizzy heights of 23rd, never mind stay up.

I’d pick Cambridge & MK to go down with us, and the other spot will be between Morecambe, Accy & Cheltenham.

I have a suspicion that we will go into the game against Cheltenham, having already been relegated, win that game and take them down with us!

Cambridge were the better side at Fleetwood, but not taking our chances cost us dearly - we can hardly buy a goal at the moment, we desperately need one of our strikers to hit a run of form to give us any chance of dragging ourselves out of this mess.

We need a couple of big breaks to have a good chance of staying up, starting today at Exeter.

It could be worse. FGR need snookers…

Wre are going down. In a way I'm not bothered. I'm hoping it will bring a change in ideas. It's no good building a good team (last year) then selling it and having to rebuild again. We need consistancy and continuity that a team of your own players bring as Plymouth and Bolton have shown. Not citing Ipswich and Sheffield as examples as they are financially blowing everyone out of the water and tbh should walk promotion.

First half last night, i thought you were the worst team we've faced. We were just happy to let you have the ball with your centre backs, then press and you messed up. You were better 2nd half, but i expected more from the firepower you have. We were by no means great, but we like conceding late goals to you at home.

If we don't beat Fleetwood and Lincoln in our next two games, then we're in the deep doo-doo.

I always think GD is a good indicator as well. Sometimes you'll have a side down there who'll have a single figure negative goal difference that shows they're generally in games but this season (Oxford this season, Shrewsbury have been down there with low negative goal differences in the last two seasons).

Burton to Cambridge are all very samey plus Vale, so it'll be interesting if it comes down to that.

We are an odd one as we generally are in games but all but 2 wins are by the odd goal.

Our goal difference gets battered because we have a "shitter" as we call it every 6-8 weeks

Exeter 4-0, Posh 3-0, Oxford 4-0, Wycombe 3-0, but between those games we generally have a solid defensive record statistically.

Our shots on target against statistic in Top 6 which shows our keepers in a bad light! If we stay up its certainly something that is desperately needing to be addressed in the summer to improve.

It’s been called the “mass surrender” on our forum as all of the bottom eight or so seem completely incapable of winning more than once every couple of months. Winning twice in a month would make a huge difference for any team as no one else is winning at all.

I suspect it will go to the final day. There are a clutch of us that are not very good.
Agree with this, I know we have been crap all season but most of the opposition have been disappointing too...I had expected the quality in this division to be another level and apart from just a few teams at the top it hasn't been.

Last Saturday Lincoln scored probably the best goal I have seen all season, but after that they didn't threaten too much...Charlton scored a nice goal early in the game, sliced us open like a hot knife through butter, really feared we would be on the end of a big score...but then they resorted to just lumping the ball long and barely, if ever, bothered to run after it.

The only teams that have really impressed me were Ipswich, they looked really slick at times, Plymouth were functional but you could see why they are doing well...oh, and Exeter made the most of their chances, Port Vale were also pretty decent...that is about it for me.

Fortunately for us our horrendous goal difference won’t cost us survival.

Unfortunately that’s because we won’t get anywhere near enough points to make it relevant, but still every cloud eh.

Only consolation is that nobody has really stuffed us, despite how bad we have been...OK, Sheff Weds put five past us and Derby, Exeter and Ipswich all scored four...but we haven't been on the end of a 8-0!
