Surely Newcastle are down if they don't beat Swansea? But with their shite defence they may aswell give up now.

43 points (pretty sure) is the guaranteed safety, which will become 40 if Sunderland lose, and will become 41 if Newcastle win. Basically all this means Chelsea are safe and Bournemouth need a win to be safe, along with Swansea and West Brom.

This suggests it's not even a fact. Interesting how much the table can still change though.

:/

I've double checked my maths... unless I've fucked up somehow..

EDIT: Found this. No fucking clue what it means but...
On to the next most shocking: are Chelsea feasibly still in danger of being relegated? It looks like they could be, but it’s all an illusion. Their tally of 44 points is one shy of 18th-placed Sunderland’s maximum possible haul of 45, but they’re already mathematically safe thanks to the fixture schedule.

Eh? That doesn't make any sense for me...

We play Sunderland. We can't both get 3 points ie we can't both reach 44 points.
Oh!

should really check the fixture schedules next time I do something like this.

Thanks mate

We're down already, have you seen our remaining fixtures? City, Lverpool and Spurs left to play.

Really nervous about today. A win and we're so close to being safe. A draw isn't the end of the world but is far from ideal. A defeat and I think that'll shift momentum to Sunderland and we'll have a lot to do to stay up.

It's simple.
Win - we have a great chance to stay up and really should.
Draw - we've still got a chance but will probably go down.
Lose - down.

The atmosphere at Carra Rud hasn't been any good for years (with the odd exception) and I imagine it'll be even quieter today. Just hope the nervousness of the fans doesn't creep into the players. Need the ultimate professional performance today. No emotion, no lapses in concentration. A repeat of the Play-Off final performance, ideally.

Fucking bricking it. (and this from someone who isn't all that bothered by relegation, sport is a funny old thing - makes logic and reason go out the window)

Yeah I'm nervous as well. Think we have to win to stay up don't think a draw will be good enough. We will concede, which wil make it interesting.

Think Villa are down :dis:
A draw at lunchtime must suit the Canaries more than Sunderland? Wouldn't surprise me if we saw an away win there though. Mind you a convincing Norwich win wouldn't be the biggest shock in the world either, it's been that sort of season.

So you don't think the inflatable canaries are going to improve the atmosphere?

Be fair lad, hes stuck his neck out with that Villa prediction.

I know, yeah, fair play to him. For us to survive another week we require a Sunderland win and to win at Old Trafford. Not that difficult, really...

see you next season.

looking/not looking [delete as applicable depending derby results] forward to it

You'll start winning again once we're finally down, you're just doing your best to help us stay up.

if we're being honest we were relegated in August when we didn't sign a CB (and/or a proven goalscorer). that we've got to April believing that there was even a chance of survival is a miracle in itself. testament to how shit Newcastle and Sunderland have been. of the two, I hope Newcastle stay up. big fan of the True Geordie (https://www.youtube.com/user/footballfan533)

We'll see. You still have a chance imo, think it is in Sunderland's hands now though.

Yeah, you're down mate. You were right, sorry for doubting you.

It's not over yet. It's not like Sunderland or Newcastle are any better than you are.

it couldn't be more over. Klose was our last throw of the die, he's gone and so have our chances. almost a shame that only three go down because I reckon all four of us deserve it.
