Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.

Interesting to read in the paper that Cadbury are BANNING EASTER to prevent offence to other religions.

Facebook and twitter were ablaze with righteous fury.

(Despite Easter being an entirely bolted on festival, stealing from Pagan spring mythology)

Anyway. Here's Cadbury and their ongoing assault on the word 'Easter'

Last year about 2-4 weeks after Easter I got loads of cheap Cadburys Easter eggs from a discount store they run...and cream eggs that worked out at about 20p each. Quick heads up so y'all dont miss out.

Caring for the community, and that's they I should be mod.

Actually, most of the conceptions surrounding this claim are a myth themselves.

A few years ago there were always loads and loads of easter eggs going really cheap. Past few they have seemingly understocked, can't always buy them the day before.

Oh no, that shitstirring is genuine, I was simply saying that the whole thing about Easter being just a carbon copy of the pagan festival Ishtar or something.

It is built heavily on pre-existing pagan fertility festivals. That's why the symbols are still rabbits and eggs.

Cos rabbits love to get their fuck on. And then lay eggs as a result.

This is what we're teaching our kids!

And where, pray tell, is my nearest Cadbury's discount store? I may be a horrendous glutton but there's probably a limit to how far I'm willing to trek for creme eggs. Without this vital nugget of information it just feels as though you're TAUNTING me, Blade, TAUNTING ME

Perhaps that's why they're yet to make you mod (well, that and the lack of care you take with your SENTENCE CONSTRUCTION)

Its an online store so they deliver direct to your front door. I expect a like in return for this amazing, life completing, delicious piece of information.

All is forgiven!

With the caveat that I'm slightly unsure as to whether this is a good look for me

Funnily enough, it's a myth which seemingly died on Friday, and has been resurrected today....

So, innocent children of Hindu, Muslim and Christian faith murdered. So that's the combined efforts of three Supreme Beings who failed to protect kids. It's enough to shake one's faith in religion really, isn't it?

No. I'm using religiously motivated murder as a stick to beat religion. Don't troll. It's unbecoming.

The problem is evil is where most religions fail absolutely.

We are told:

  1. God is all knowing
  2. God is all powerful
  3. God is all loving
So:

  1. God knows that there is suffering, and he knew there would be suffering when he invented the world- why didn't he make it better? Is he not powerful/loving?
  2. God is all powerful, so he could do literally anything to stop evil but he doesn't. Either he isn't all powerful, or he isn't all loving.
  3. God is all loving, so he wants to stop evil.

These logically can't all be true.

Not sure your points are applicable to most religions tbf mate. Sound a bit Abrahamic-centric to me in fact.

Abrahamic religions are the main ones, so I think "most" works.

Fall of man explains this doesn't it? There's a whole free will paradox tied into this, but I doubt you'll bring down Christianity with this simplistic stuff.

But God is omniscient. He knew man would fall when he created the world, he knew everything that would ever happen. So why did he create the world in which the fall happened?
