Simon Jordans a dick so I'd take anything he says with a pinch of salt. I don't have much of an opinion on Rowett anyway I just don't think Warnock's football would be any better.
As I said, I would take a Warnock-type now only as a ‘temporary fix’. I suspect and hope that we will look at appointing a higher calibre manager before the start of next season.

Local journalists and the London press have all reported that Rowett had held talks with Fulham, QPR and other clubs. I just found it interesting that even Simon Jordan (who’s been out of football for 7 years) has picked up on it.

Shows how bad we've been that the stuff we're playing now is the best since Dave Jones was in charge...

Bit surprising, as in why now if not before. They've been down the bottom all season, and they've not done too badly lately. Played well against United.

Guess they must have a replacement lined up. Which would take away from any potential pool for us..

Owen Coyle's career has really gone down the toilet, from looking a decent manager a few years back.

Could Blackburn attract Gary Rowett? Possibly a deal till the end of the season?

Unlikely I'd think, should it go horribly it could damage his stock as a manager.

Don't think so, he's just done a good while under a bunch of nutty owners at Small Heath, think he'd want a club that at least appears stable next.

Still if he were to take over they get relegated and a lot of defeats then it still damages his reputation regardless of the state Blackburn are in.

Twice finishing mid-table with mid-table standard players?

Think that's a bit harsh, given what came before and after Rowett for Birmingham. Zola since taking over a solid, over performing squad has them in relegation form, which shows what a good job Rowett did.

Huge bottle from Blackburn there, they have some massive games in the next couple of weeks. Can't imagine they'll get someone decent though, so all seems a bit strange..

Comparison to Clark and two months of Zola is not indicative of ‘how good’ Rowett is. Look at Wagner, Huddersfield finished 19th in the same season that he took over. With time to recruit the ‘right’ players and time to instil his philosophy to take Huddersfield forward, they are now looking good for promotion. Similarly, Stam has elevated Reading from a club that finished 17th to one that look certain to make the playoffs. Both have had less or equal resources to work with than Rowett had with Birmingham. If it doesn’t work out with Zola then the board will obviously look towards appointing someone else. Francesco Guidolin and Michael Laudrup were supposedly two of the three that they had shortlisted. I expect they’ll look at someone of that calibre again when time on Zola is up.

*Turning a club round that was on it's knees from bottom of the Championship to just outside the top six with bang average players and not a lot of money.
Again, you are basing this on assumption – have you watched Birmingham City with any degree of regularity to know that we had ‘over-performed’ with Rowett? Who are the ‘bang average’ players? It was a mid-table standard squad of players when Rowett took charge from Clark and it still is now.

Yes, I did actually. Everyone else can see it, even most Brum fans, you're still bitter about the whole thing.

Having a squad of mid table players in 7th suggests he was doing a good job....

It's half and half actually if you judge it by our forums.

Channel 5's highlights don't count. You have seen us twice last season against Bristol City and however many times we've been on Sky.

What did you think of Rowett's Birmingham at Ashton Gate last season?

Several times on Sky. People are allowed an opinion from the outside looking in, it was big in the media because it was a ridiculous sacking.

I thought you were solid, would love a manager that could set us up to defend. Could do a lot here with a big budget.

We hadn't reached the halfway point of the season by then, you can only look at where your club finishes after the last match has been played which has always been mid-table with Rowett - 10th twice and was two points off 10th when he left. We went on a similar run last year - one win in 12. We had just lost 0-3 at home to Barnsley and 4-0 at Newcastle just prior to his dismissal, whether we would be in a better position now or not is purely speculative.

All things considered is regularly being 10th that bad? Given (from the outside at least) it always seems like you don't spend much compared to the team around you, being a top 10 side is still an achievement.
