What are the odds on Zola being sacked? Especially in light of his weird outburst against Reading fans taunting him.

What happened?
Our fans sung a few chants like "sacked in the morning" and "there's only one Gary Rowett" and he didn't like it..

Called our fans disrespectful for singing fairly generic songs aimed at him. ""I was expecting a little bit more class from them. It wasn't very nice, I think you can be winning the game and a little touch more class than they had."

I think Zola is doing a superb job. I also think Bruce is doing a great job for them.

Nah, Birmingham are playing nicer football under him apparently so he'll be fine.
What's with the snide comment?

Zola has got us playing better but ultimately it's a results business and time is starting to run out for him. We don't have the same 'type' of players that he had at Watford to play that style of football. Watching Zola's post-match interviews it looks like the job is increasingly starting to wear him down. I think he'll jump before he's pushed.

And miss out on compensation? No chance.

Only a bit of pisstaking mate.

Thought it was a laughable decision to sack Rowett, so it's just nice to be proven right. Nothing personal.

I would probably scrape the barrel with Warnock as a temporary fix and then see who's out there in the summer. Would have to be somebody who knows this league inside out, someone who's not going to bore us to sleep.

fuck me our lot hate warnock. I personally like him although he's an horrible bastard at times he gets the job done. Would never want him at villa mind. Would be a decent appointment for the blues.

Warnock doesn't exactly play expansive football.

Would have taken Bruce back as soon as he left Hull but obviously that ship now has long sailed. Wonder how different things would be now if we had gone with Hughton over Rowett, at the time it was between those two and Mike Phelan to take the job.

Why sack Rowett for more attractive football, and then after it brings shite results go to the master of the shithousing art, Neil Warnock?

He wouldn't leave Cardiff for Brum anyway.

Your opinions on Rowett's Birmingham is mostly based on assumptions and 20 seconds of match highlights on Channel 5. We had lost momentum under Rowett and the results were starting to show (0-3 against Barnsley, 0-4 at Newcastle, made hard work of it against Rotherham and Blackburn). Teams that do well in this league don't do it by being ultra-defensive. They get promoted by dominating matches which we have rarely done in the two years with Rowett. To push on from mid-table, our style of play and the personnel had to change. Rowett has proved that he can not set out to dominate matches. I would take a Warnock-type now as a temporary fix (stop the rot, straighten us out) and look at appointing someone of the calibre of Michael Laudrup in the summer and have a real good go at it next season.

I would take a Warnock-type now as a temporary fix (stop the rot, straighten us out) and look at appointing someone of the calibre of Michael Laudrup and have a real good go at it next season. It is not a choice of Rowett or Zola, the solution is neither of them.
You keep saying about this "20 second channel 5 highlight" presumption but I watched you several times under Rowett and I only have to take a look at how where you were in the table under him and how little he spent to have you where you were to know he was doing a fantastic job.

He worked well with what he had, you hardly had an array of attacking talent so he made you hard to beat (only Brighton had suffered less defeats when he was sacked). Maybe if he'd have been given the money that Zola has this window the football would've been prettier and ultimately you'd still be in the play-off picture.

Surprised that Zola would get so wound up by songs being sung by the opposition - maybe showing the pressure.

When we us we didn't exactly excel in defensive situations but had enough attackers to score goals to get us out of jail...

Not sure Birmingham have that...

I have only said it twice. How did we play at Ashton Gate last season then, and the Sky matches against Wolves and Burton? Stam and Wagner have both probably spent equal or less and they have been playing to a much better standard. Rowett wasted loan fees on Vaughan, Halford, Buckley and Lafferty, £1.5m on Fabbrini, 500k on Stewart, 500k on Brock-Madsen. He had two years to address our lack of forward options, two years to replace a League 1 standard left-back, failed to properly replace Demarai Gray, etc. I know Rowett looks suave and he's articulate but his style of football was boring, it was predictable, and I doubt we would have finished anywhere but mid-table with him. He negotiated better terms for himself after he held talks with Fulham last season and was still seeking out other clubs. He deserved to be sacked for that alone.

Simon Jordans a dick so I'd take anything he says with a pinch of salt. I don't have much of an opinion on Rowett anyway I just don't think Warnock's football would be any better.
