Pathetic decision to bring him back, but even more pathetic to sack him. Fucking hate this club.

Yes, Chrissy Powell has also gone :(

Happy days.

Should never have appointed him in the first place.

Random team selections, bizarre tactics, no real idea of what to do. The players have to take a lot of responsibility for some dire performances but ultimately it's down to the Manager.

I expect Rowett in asap, and think he'll do a good job, and will have the backing of Chairman in the summer.

Very harsh on McClaren isn't it?I suppose he will get a payoff anyway so won't be too bothered.
I never had the Derby owners down as being so cut throat, always thought they were decent TBH.
Genuinely surprised by this.

Mel Morris has been very trigger happy lately. 5 permanent managers in 4 years.

Can we please sack Kevin fucking Phillips too, our strikers have gone downhill ever since he came in!

Chris Martin signs long term deal with us due to McClaren return, imagine if Fulham go up now.

Is he saying 'promotion or sacked' Rammy as that's surely not sustainable if you keep changing Managers?

No. He's saying "promotion is not a priority". Reiterated that statement again today, after he said it last year when Clement went.

Then what is the aim and what is the point in sacking these managers?

Fair enough fella, that makes it even more odd IMHO. I would imagine Rowett is a shoe in for you IF he's a big enough name?
Out of interest, who's still getting parachute money? Newcastle, Norwich, Villa, QPR, Fulham and Cardiff? With Sunderland heading down, for anyone not in receipt of the parachute payments, it makes things really difficult. Imagine if Newcastle cock up and Brighton go up with Huddersfield?

Exactly.

Although our players seem to be getting a reputation for hounding them out too. Don't think that's happened this time though.

Do you believe him?

With him being so trigger happy and with the money you spend on largely decent players, it would suggest promotion is exactly what he's after. I really can't see the point in any of it otherwise.

No, his statements are ridiculous.

It looks black and white but every time he sacks someone he always puts out pish like this...

"We need a manager who shares our values and who is prepared to develop the team, staff and processes that will set us on course for a sustainable place in the Premier League.

"We are less concerned about timescales than we are about getting things right. Of course we would like to achieve this sooner rather than later.

"That manager will of course be given the full support and backing of myself, the board, our executive team and staff to shape and develop the team around those who truly and demonstrably want to be part of Derby County."

Rowett to be confirmed in the next 48 hours.

No mention of a caretaker, so clearly Rowett is already lined up. I absolutely loved him as a player, so hope he does well and doesn't get driven out by our pathetic footballers come September/October.

But if you don't get us up first time of asking, you're out.

Reminds me of that old BP advert 'we don't care what colour your car is, as long as it's green'

We've got Mark Ashton, but I don't think I've ever seen a man more fluent in management bolloxese than this Morris chap.

"To ensure we are on the right path, it is important to put the building blocks in place so we can develop a team we can all be proud of. Players should wear the shirt with pride and share, espouse and exude the qualities and values we believe are important to the club, its supporters and the community."

Can see where they're going wrong though. They're on the right path but they keep trying to build a bloody wall in front of it

Long ball football going to be 'The Derby Way' then?

Never rated Rowett as a player nor a manager, and he dresses like a metrosexual, worse than Robinson, Sherwood and Tisdale!

Who even is Forest's manager nowadays, I've lost track. Have they replaced Montanier yet?

Brazil until the end of the season and then they'll get Warburton providing they stay up.

As much as McLaren is truly pathetic I feel your main issue is having overated footballers who you will be paying fortunes too who are more than happy taking their money home without actually trying to achieve something at the club. A big clear out is what you need.

Who's stupid enough to buy them though? Their wages would have to be, at least matched, so they're going nowhere.
Actually, they'll probably end up at our place. :(
