That should be thrilling to watch for you then with karanka in charge. Lambert not done too bad has he?

Would rather keep Lambert. The club really needs stability, and sacking Lambert will mean 4 managers inside 12 months. Karanka was decent at Boro, but I'm not convinced he would be for us. Apparently the reason we are sacking Lambert, and the reason we want to hire Karanka is because he is a friend (yes man) to this Jorge Mendes, and Fosun would rather a fucking agent who saw us play 1 game last season be in charge of our recruitment, than an actual manager.

Really split on Fosun, happy to see them invest so much money into the club, but they know nothing about football.

Good post. Reflects my views pretty much, too.
If they don't like Lamber, then sack him. They did this to KJ too. It's fairly shameful, to be honest.

We weren't that bad until near the end of the Randy era, Lambert had 3 seasons, McLeish one, Houllier one (NOT SACKED) and O'Neill 4 (also not sacked)...

Then you get to Sherwood (half a season) Garde (less than that), RDM (10 league games) and now Bruce who should manage at least a full season.

Well even those who do know a bit about football aren't afraid to chop and change!

Sounds like Lambert wants to bring in British players with Championship experience whilst the club want more names from abroad..

The foreign crap dragged Newcastle down and rafaput that right by bringing in a few British players with championship experience. Likes of sisoko would have been useless in championship and cost a packet. You can run a squad full of foreigners ala man city and Chelsea and do well.

In a funny way I reckon a lot of fans would rather have the likes of Abdi,1FF and Vydra back (if on form) than some of the overseas players we have now..

And as for the manager - I think he is one of the most unpopular we've ever had!

Cannot really complain I guess about the Pozzos at all (new stands/put their money very freely) but must say the Championship is a lot more exciting if your doing well.

Last night were our first away goals since January!

The premiership would be better if you do a Leicester though mate. But yes it can't be overly exciting being a west brom or stoke fan but I suppose that's where clubs our size can only get too other than the unreal one off thing Leicester have done.

I would never generalise or stereotype, but there seem to be two types of furners buying football clubs.
The first type is really super rich guys who empty their jeans pocket and find £25 billion in 50ps and 20ps and decide to buy a club and fund it with shitloads of money for the next 30 years. £25 billion buys you Premier League residency for a long time.
The second type are unknown furn companies making shit like fluorescent wing-mirrors, disco lights or the plastic bits at the end of your shoelaces. They've got a little bit rich but no-one really knows who they are, even in the street where they grew up. They empty their Next trouser pockets and find an elastic band and the business card of a British lawyer they met in the lounge at Bangkok airport two years ago. And £86. They phone the lawyer, who buys them a well-known-ish Championship club. For several weeks they are then world famous in the suburbs of a medium-sized British town. They've spend all their shoelace riches on buying the club but there's also a three-mile queue of football's hangers-on to pay and wine and dine. That's the money gone. No, seriously: completely fucking gone, sir. No, that account's also empty, sir. The club then has to survive on gate receipts, which - let's face it - at 17,000 every two weeks isn't going to pay for the loss-making match-day programme, the stewards and the police bill.

To be brutally honest, there are people who hang around in the PL forum on this website who know more about football than all these foreign owners who have zero connection with the club OR the game of football. They know absolutely nothing. They turn up in cheap suits and a brand new club scarf and the CEO sits by them to point out which is their team. But these clubs will all survive. The owners will eventually sell for 0.2% of what they paid originally and will fade into history. The club will be reborn with a Supporter's Trust, a £15,000 loan from a local plumber and a 37-year-old Irish centre-half.

It's not essential to have a foreigner buy your club to take into the abyss, but recent evidence suggests it's a considerable help.

Assume that'll be it for Carlos at Wednesday now, who to take over? Pardew? Pearson?

Attractive job with the squad they've got and the financial backing.

Despite the play off defeat still seems harsh sacking him. Play pff twice in a row after years of struggle. Not too bad. Mind the far east owners like going througth a load of managers

If they sack him for pardew or Pearson that will top off a very enjoyable year.

He's out of contract I believe wouldn't need to sack him.

There's 13,000 Chinese millionaires looking to see where Huddersfield is on the map right now.

Have to say I'm surprised but Carlos has signed a new deal. Bit meh either way for me, we were largely boring as f**k last season but finished 4th so it's quite hard to critise

I'm chuffed, continuity is key and I don't think we're that far away from being automatic contenders, last thing we want is a new manager coming in and ripping it all up and starting again, ending up like Derby was my biggest fear.

Could do a lot worse tbh, even as turbulent as the last couple of years have been.

I meant in terms of sacking the manager, spending a fortune on new players and repeating the cycle without getting promoted. I think you'll be up there next season though.

Absolute fucking disgrace how Paul Lambert is being treated at Wolves. If he's not doing the job, sack him. If he is, then back him and say so strongly. What is it with football that allows absolute cretins into the boardroom? Why is respect and integrity so utterly lacking in sport these days??

Yeah I can see the cycle we're in isn't a great one to be in. If you fail again next year with Carlos what's better though? Ideally we both stop messing around and get the job done but I still think we'll be here in this position again next year.

We are effectively being managed by a football agent, Jorge Mendes. We are making the exact same mistakes that cost us last season... wasting time, and when we do act it will be too late.

Either back Lambert or sack him, but do it now, and not wait until a few days before the start of the season. It really is a shame, as with Fosun's money the sky is the limit, just their footballing decisions, and trust in a football agent is ridiculous.
