Usually the words “The slow death of Vale” would appeal to me massively, however having just heard Smurfs radio stoke interview I’m siding with you. I don’t understand how the football league can just let this happen?

I hope Crewe fans do something to support your fight against him when we play you in a few weeks, it’s disgraceful.

I’d urge Crewe fans not to buy ANYTHING inside the ground. No pies, drinks, chocolate, programmes, golden goal tickets (not sure if they sell them in the away end) or anything else at all. It all goes straight into Gormans pocket.

I can’t promise anything because I’m a big Wright’s pie advocate and they stopped selling them years ago at Gresty Road.

Wright’s near the ground are selling them and are happy to provide them wrapped for the football.

The Crewe game is meant to be the main protest day “Black and Gold Day” so should be interesting.

We are currently encouraging fans to buy locally rather than at the ground.
Is that so? I’d like to think our fans would join in, however it will probably resort to the usual goading and eventfullness.

The worry is and I hope it doesn’t that the protests turn sour after yesterday. They’ve been impeccably well mannered so far but emotions are understandabley shooting up now the actual future of the club itself is in peril.

The Shanahans are to make a new bid for the club tomorrow with the CEO Colin Garlick who Smurf has apparently left to deal with it.

Let’s hope he did the right thing. You’ve clearly had enough, do the right thing and let us go.

That’s the issue isn’t it, he’s got Nuneaton surely one ground is enough!

I’ll do what I always do and have a few pints in the old bulls head, but would be glad to bring some Crewe colours to the demonstration. There’ll be a few hundred coked up lads from south Cheshire that will probably spoil the occasion though.

I hope we move temporarily to either Leek or Kidsgrove and let him rot in his precious stadium

It's not his stadium it's yours, never forget that.

I’d miss the old stadium, it’s falling to bits, unfinished but it’s our home, it’s where so many memories were made, that great 90s team, the 1954 FA Cup semi final run, the wins over Stoke and giant killings over Spurs and Everton etc.

Losing it would be devastating but renting it off the man who’s done this to us would be unthinkable.

It’s awful to even think about leaving it but unless the EFL change rules on how clubs are split as we are far from the only one nothing then this is always an issue. Sadly it’s too late for us but hopefully the FA/EFL learn from this for other clubs sakes.

We’ve suffered largely in silence now but this now has finally got the issues out to the wider football world finally, the support of other clubs to our plight is heartening, the Blackpool trust who ousted Oysten are getting involved with us, even Stoke fans are rallying round which is good to see, it’s a community issue, losing Vale and the rivalry hurts them too I guess.

Hopefully the pressure cranks up and he accepts the bid.

It’s the staff at the club I also feel sorry for as no doubt some of them will have learned this at the time of his on air meltdown. Interesting scenario for Garlick who will be negotiating in the knowledge this could leave him redundant whatever happens.

What did Smurf pay for the club? And has he actually put much in?

Well John Askey was told in the post match interview as he was asked about it and said he hadn't heard as they were warming up and then had the game on!

£1.25m initially and claims to have put at least £2m in, but allegedly has taken a similar amount out.

Hard to say isn't it/

£1.25 Million, then accounts shown directors loans which reduced from 3 Million or something but:

£2 Million Hugill sell on
£100k Anthony Grant
£250k Jak Alnwick
4 youths went for big money last year
TV Money for Sunderland (65K i think)
100k I believe Checkatrade prize money this season alone

Yet we've spent a small fee on signing Hannant from Gateshead and I think that is it!

The CEO stated the food kiosk sales don't go into the club, not sure on the merchandise side? or the events side.

And we made a profit last year so his loans should have gone down significantly.

He had an offer of £3.5 Million from the Shanahans the day before the Notts game which he rejected for the club and Ground, plus he would get the final Hugill instalment as a sweetner in January 2020 so overall £4.1 Million (although reported slightly more than that).

Why put us in admin with that offer on the table!

I wouldn't be happy with this deal, and wonder if hes just using it as leverage to get more money.

What puzzles me is 2 days ago, he doubted a deal would materialise by the 5 May, and now he announces this!

Pants on fire?

Well he said a deal for the ground couldn't be done in time...

If Shanahans offer 3.5 plus Hugill money again that is 1.4 Million more so surely covers the value of VP!

I dont think he wants the Synetics deal to happen whatever it is. This Asian bid, if it actually exists, will split the fanbase.

The Asian bid would be catastrophic and will only end in tears.
Can I comment on the demonstration.
I watched from a close vantage point on Saturday and it was akin to an old people's tea party.
Might as well of got a flask and scone on the go.
I'm no way condoning anything like violence or damage so I'll be careful with my words.
But it's got to be more vociferous and angry.
I found it all too passive and lacklustre.
The same the other week when the march up hamil road looked like a scene from the walking dead
Sorry if that upsets folk but thats my view.

Anyway lacklustre or not he is going to go , what we are left with scares me because he is clearly a vindictive spiteful man

I was surprised how flat it was Saturday as people were just stood there but was a late call to do it. I imagine there will be more vociferous protests after this though, unless by some miracle a good deal is done i.e. Synectics.

You are right it was very low-key all round on Saturday Darren. I guess though there wasn’t actually any protest planned until the last minute and possibly the news may not have filtered through to everyone also.

I do think it’s a fine line though as to how to conduct these protests though as if things get a little too aggro then would lose all moral high ground which is the last thing that would be needed. Not that am suggesting you advocated that (and hope it doesn’t read like that) at all but we all know it only takes one or two to get carried away with things and suddenly there becomes a different narrative.

and the club itself...

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the club actually split 3 ways? Merchandise and matchday money/the ground/the actual club.

All three separate companies owned by Smurf.

If you want something more hostile Darren then lead from the front by all means! Sure people would follow suit...

Oh and this Asian bid isn't real, I would put money on it. No-one would buy a 4th division football club for £2.8 million, and not even end up with anything resembling a tangible, physical asset (i.e. the ground) to show for it.
