Going to get TLOU - never ever played it.
Fallout 4
Crafting and settlements are really confusing me, how do you set people to guard posts and other responsibilities?

I'm roughly the at the same point in UD, but I think that while it is technically 'survival horror', its core mechanics don't set up the same stakes as Japanese SH games and from what I've seen so far I'm not sure survival is even the game's ludic priority. It's a pretty heavy-handed but effective attempt at metafiction and the choices it poses aren't meaningful in and of themselves but in how well they resonate with your intentions.
I hope the final act doesn't get too bogged down in lore and plot resolution cuz honestly the game kinda drags when it brings up 'the twins' stuff. It's at its best when it dares you to make meaningful decisions on behalf of the characters. Do you try to second-guess the game because you vaguely saw a character do something you assume is important, do you make choices that you yourself would make in that situation or do you closely follow what you assume the characters would otherwise do? That's where the real meat of the game is, imo.

Playing the FFX hd remaster. Got past the bit I was stuck on as a kid last night. Taken me years to beat that boss and I've finally done it.
I've just finished it. Managed to get to the end without killing a single character which I was quite happy about. On the other hand, my brother unintentionally got 4 of them killed.
Interesting views though. I personally played it with a sole intention of trying to get to the end with them all alive rather than playing it from what I think the character would naturally do. It's an interesting perspective to take and I may play through again with this intention.
I quite liked the 2nd half of the story. It was a nice tone shift. We went from Cabin in the Woods to The Descent in one game. I did like the slow horror build up in the first half of the story as different characters slowly get exposed to the horror in different ways. But full on survival mode was also quite fun.
My one criticism, which I'll put in spoilers in case people are playing through this still:
Considering the Wendigo managed to obliterate a seasoned mountain explorer with a flamethrower in one swooping slice, they were damn right sloppy when it came to killing 8 young adults. There were a few moments where they were able to outrun them far too easily
Fallout 4
just building my Sanctuary settlement, installing power (took me ages to work out the attach wires crap)
working for the Brotherhood of Steel and Minutemen, I've literally no idea what questline is the main one? I have one for going to Diamond City i'm guessing that one is?
Out of interest, which boss was it? Because if it was one of the fights against Seymour, that's exactly what I did... stuck on it as a kid, then beat the prick first time on the HD remake, the bastard.
In fact, I found the earlier boss against that flying dragon prick on top of the airship a lot harder this time around (though I remember struggling against that as a kid, too)... wouldn't be surprised if it was him. Pretty sure that on the HD remake, him and the very end boss were the only things that actually managed to KO me...
Just finished Game of Thrones. There needs to be a second season...
Assassin's Creed: Syndicate.
My first dip into the AC series since very first game so things probably feel fresher to me than to most but I'm enjoying it a lot. The two protagonists are good, the London setting is beautiful and both the main story and the side missions are really fun. Tempted to buy Unity now too.
Yea don't buy Unity mate. It's riddled with bugs and lazily put together. Black Flag is really enjoyable thoughAssassin's Creed: Syndicate.
