I might be miserable, but no one who knows me has ever accused me of being boring.

With the greatest of respect, Pags, you're a father of two from Milton Keynes whose main interests seem to be IT, phones, 1980s music and keeping abreast of Liverpool results without going to any games. To some people - certainly not all, but some - you probably are extremely boring.

I say this as someone who's quite certain that the majority of people think I'm boring. It's just that people don't tend to tell you that to your face.

I'm not from Milton Keynes, I'm simply unfortunate enough to live there. And 80s music is shit bar the odd artist and example. I'm the fucking life and soul me.

Can I add myself to the boring club please?

Father of two from Bracknell (I've lived here 10 years so I think I can say I'm from here now), I write computer software for the financial industry and my hobbies are running, going to non-league football matches and I also dabble in astronomy.

I spent Monday evening watching Downton Abbey whilst attempting to fix by Ubuntu install on an old laptop. Tuesday evening, I was at Abingdon watching a Hellenic Premier Division match.

Please swipe right if interested.

What was the Ubuntu issue? I'm a non-boring unix engineer so I might be able to help.

A whole decade of music, hundreds of genres, thousands of artists, hundreds of thousands of songs - brutally swept aside in one sentence.

You're a week behind. I only know this because I'm forced to watch it. Given that actually wanting to watch Downton Abbey makes you boring.

Dropped my weak tea on the keyboard when Hugh Boneville's ulcer burst.

I think it's a hardware issue...
I had a perferated ulcer 3 times in 2 years but didn't have claret flying out of my mouth like the character did, fuck me it hurt though

Working late and knowing I won't get home until around 930. After a boring train journey and around 12 miles of cycling in the dark. Still, at least the rain's stopped.

You cycle 12 miles to the train station? Christ. Is this because you love cycling or do you live in the sticks and have no other option?

It's so he doesn't have to sit through all ninety minutes of the Liverpool match which starts at quarter to eight tonight.

I'd rather cycle twelve miles in the dark as well.

That's from work to the station then from the station at the other end to my house. Most of the time I'm collected from the station by the wife but with the kids in bed by 730 I need to make that extra journey. I mainly do it to save money (daily bus from the station to work and back is over £60 a month) and to keep (or perhaps more accurately, attempt to get) fit.

I've just realise I've posted evidence to the contrary regarding my "I'm not boring" claim.

Why don't you drive? I drive and go on the treadmill or bike at home, that way I can watch football, keep fit and be at home in time for footy.

I associate "interesting" with a willingness to try new things hence accumulting a variety of experiences.

Boring would be the opposite.

Because I work nearly 40 miles from where I live, in terms of fuel costs and wear and tear, it's cheaper to commute on the train, despite the ludicrous prices. Not to mention the M1 traffic.

Normally around 9 but things are pretty flexible providing I put my hours in.

How many hours in total do you spend commuting, on average?

I get pissed off if the illuminations are on (which they are) and I have to travel through town.

I spend roughly £350 a month and around 3 hours a day travelling, be it cycling or sitting/standing on the train.

So, assuming you work a 9 hour day, that becomes 12 hours and you have to pay for that additional lost time. How do you do it?

I work 8 hour days, I'm out of here by 515 unless an emergency comes up or a fix requires out of hours downtime for a server, like tonight. I work 10-11 hour days including travel, but earn an above average wage for my trouble so don't mind. I get to see the kids before they go to bed, which is the main thing for me.
