I'm only on my 6th day smoke free, apparently it gets easier.

I purchased an e-cig and have been battering it to be honest. I'm just trying to save money to spend on more Archers

If you get to two weeks then you've done the hardest bit, it definitely got easier for me after that point.

It's most difficult after a beer. How long have you gone without a cig?

Yeah, I found it harder to go without a smoke after a beer or two as well.

It's been nearly three years for me now - I was smoking twenty a day at the time and my partner and I decided to try for children so we both stopped. I used an e-cig for the first couple of months which helped.

Do you still feel you could go one Steven ? My wife's been stopped 11 years and she does occasionally.

I don't but my partner still says she fancies a smoke when she gets stressed.

Agree with Steven. Two weeks and it got loads easier. I used almonds rather than any kind of fag substitute. Am about 5 years quit now. Best thing I ever did for my health. Wanna make the leap with booze next but I like it too much.

To jump in and answer Leo 's question, I don't see myself ever smoking again because I can't fucking stand it now. Hate being around people smoking, which is a bit of a problem in China. But that's my problem, not theirs. I'm forever walking away from people lighting up though.

Have never been tempted to smoke again. Would be scared I'd go swiftly back to a pack a day if I thought well, just one... 1 is far, far closer to 20 than it is to 0 in this instance. Also wouldn't vape either, or do hookah or whatnot, coz I don't trust myself to remind me body how it feels to inhale anything.

tl;dr fuck off with your smokes

Agree with that cos I've done it....twice. Once had stopped for 3 months, another 6 months and both times went back to have 5 a day which led to 10 etc etc....

I went 6 weeks off 'em once, got pissed off at work (worked in a supermarket too), bought a pack of 10 thinking 'yeah it'll be alright', nope. To be honest, I enjoy smoking, I think about stopping now and again but unless I get determined, I'll continue. That, or if I get priced out.

Indeed, I smoke rollies though, costs me about £15-16 every 2 weeks or so, so not huge amounts right now.

I don't really smoke much (mostly after meals) so never really felt I needed to stop. Even after drinks it's just a few drags here and there. The missus smokes this though:

No Additives
No Preservatives
No Burn Accelerators
No Stem
No Expanded Tobacco
No Humecants
Super Premium Segment

Good stuff. Relatively.

I would smoke that, but it's like £4-5 more expensive than the one I do, and I figure if I'm smoking, I get a load of shit in me regardless of additives and whatever.

I do intend to at some point grow my own, mind you.

I quit smoking 5 years ago this Christmas, I was getting through 40 a day and it was costing me a small fortune, the first few months were a bit hard but then after about 6 months I didn't think about having one, I'd never go back to smoking again but occasionally the odd craving rears it's ugly head.

The fact a train in the UK isn't deemed to be late for the first 30 minutes It is delayed, allowing shithouse companies like London Midland to fuck up your travel on an almost daily basis without paying a penny in compensation.

Yup, one thing I definitely agree with Corbyn on is the re-nationalisation of the railway network. Actually, I agree with Corbyn on most things, but I'm with Max in thinking he makes a hopeless opposition leader. Principles need to be combined with political realism and the bottom line is that he is unelectable, and therefore by extension, so is Labour whilst he's at the helm. Him being re-elected as leader has effectively given the Tories a free reign for the next decade. Pretty fucking scary.

Think I've put this on here before but fuck it...

...people who don't put their headlights on in fog/rain/dusk or drive with their side lights on.

Or being a passenger in a car that has dimmer lights than the average push bike, whilst driving on unlit country roads.

Blokes with man buns or ponytails. If you're one of these I suggest taking a long look in the mirror and having a good think about what you're looking to achieve in life.
I'll occasionally have a ponytail if I can't be fucked, it is also more accepted whilst working for some odd reason, so if I'm going for an interview (or when I used to work) I'd have to have one.
