Having a gastroscopy booked for next Wednesday. I've spent the last 24 hours trying to convince myself I don't need it.

Wouldn't say that it is a "Thing I hate" but I am confused about how many here are hiding their online status:

And actual screenshot fromt the "Sheep" Thread:

10 Users visiting but only 5 are visible. Most of the 5 "invisibles" are known but why doing it? Are you ashamed to be seen lurking for minutes in the Sheep thread ?

Honey & mustard sauce. Tried it tonight over my chicken and it was fucking awful. Won't be getting that again!

Honey and mustard is a classic accompanying sauce for chicken. Must have been a bad chef/ jar.

I think it's a pretty good term to be honest. In terms of the biggest change to the world, the internet, the millennials are the only generation to have been born into the age of the internet. The internet has skewed the world and people in so many ways imaginable for both good & bad, surely being the first product of this change is worthy of a term?

I was using the internet in the mid 90s so someone born between then and 2000 could have the same claim.

You were a geek on shitty dial up on which you couldn't do shit. That pioneered things but it wasn't 'the internet'.

Strange, it was called "the internet" and I was definitely able to do more than "shit". But if you say it doesn't count then I guess that must be the case.

Given you're a man that draws his salary from having an expertise in a related subject and being the parent of millennial kids you know full well "the internet" of the 90's wasn't "the internet" of today which dictates everyday life when living in the developed world. The millennials have no concept of anything else. They have the first brains that haven't had to adapt to what is in essence another dimension of this world and beyond. A pioneer such as yourself shouldn't feel envy but a sense of pride, you paved the way old man.

So who are the millennials? I understand your point about growing up in the age of the internet and I do agree that it's significant, but if we're talking about people who grew up with the internet being a ubiquitous, always accessible thing then aren't we talking about people aged under about 20? That's not much of a demographic in an election.

I didn't suggest it was the same, to do so would be churlish. But equally, it's wrong for you to dismiss the early internet simply because you have read up on it and seen some of the things we take for granted today weren't possible.

But to go back to the original point, I also don't believe it's unreasonable to suggest someone born in, let's say 1998, is a child of the internet age. The seeds of the internet we know today were already well under way by that point.

I was born in '94 and I can't remember a time before the Internet. Even in Primary School we had an IT Room and IT lessons.

I think there is a distinction that Abertawe is getting at. In 1998 I used the internet to play Starcraft! But that was about it. From about '95 I used it for schoolwork and stuff but at that time it was something you used on occasion because you paid by the minute it wasn't something accessible all the time like it is now. I remember having a decent deal that cost 1p per minute!
Millennials are broadband users! :D

I was watching porn on the internet as early as the late 90s. What more of a modern internet yardstick do you need?

And no Steven, it wasn't Ultimate White Cream.

I wasn't really watching porn in the late 90s. I don't do that type of thing.

Mate of mine was though, and he could stream videos with it. But he's minted and had an ISDN connection.
