People who are obsessed with Facebook and constantly post where they are going, what they are having for dinner etc. Who gives a crap.

Neve used Facebook i don't see the point of it, why would i want to know what a stranger had for breakfast?

True. It's gets boring when friends constantly post a pic every time they go somewhere like a pub. A lot of the time it's the same pub too:hb:

I reckon I am probably quite annoying on facebook, pretty much all I post about is some link to a news article I've read with my poorly written opinion over the top of it. A couple of songs I might have come across that day and then normally what rave/dj I've seen or been to and what I thought of them. I don't write what I do on a day to day basis though.

I don't mind facebook though, it's a good way to keep up with what's going on in the world and I follow lots of pages that keep me updated on things that are interesting to me. I also like debating with the racists until they delete me in frustration, this will normally happen a couple of times a year.

It's really a dirty policy and one I'm pretty confident they could be sued for.
Essentially if you're not old enough then they have let an underage player gamble and by law would need to refund the stake/void any bets made by the player. If they're old enough then you're entitled to the money anyway. I suppose if you've had a win then they'll try to refund the original stake rather than the winnings though. Lots of them try to pull the ID shit when you want to make a withdrawal but none of them give a fuck when you make a deposit. Strange that.

Wow, I don't think I've ever read such an ill informed post.

Firstly, if you can't prove your age/identity then the law is very much on the side of a bookie. It's also in terms and conditions which pretty much state a bookie can do as they please. You agree to this when you sign up!

It isn't within a bookies interest to withhold money from you or stop you from using your account. Especially considering the millions they make. Do you honestly think they care about the £250 you've just won on an accumulator? No!

There are incredibly strict guidelines/rules when it comes to verification of accounts. I know first hand that bet365's is one of the strictest but there's a reason for it which is mainly to do with anti money laundering/anti-terrorism laws.

In most cases an account will be fully verified upon a first deposit due to background checks (yes, a bookie can run a background check on you, and if that doesn't work then they will run a credit check to try and verify that you are who you say you are). However, most bookies are now using new guidelines that state they must have some form of ID on file.

There's really no need to kick off about it or worry about it as A) most bookies systems are as safe as a banks and B) it makes you look dodgy as hell if you try and avoid it.

Sorry for the rant but as somebody who works for the biggest online bookie I thought I'd just try and educate you lot a bit so you're not pestering my old colleagues on live chat!

You say that if you can't prove your age then the law is on the side of the bookie. I didn't dispute that. I said if you are underage then the law is very much not on the side of the bookie. And the T&C's are null and void for underage players. You can't agree to it as you aren't old enough to.

The reason I say it is a dirty policy is quite simple, it's not that there is anything at all wrong with establishing that your customers are who they say they are and are of legal age, it's that this is only done when making a withdrawal. If you sign up to Smarkets for example the ID checks are made BEFORE you are allowed to place your first bet on the exchange. The reason bookies do it after is so they don't bog down the initial process of you getting a bet on which could turn you off, and because as most people lose out then they don't need to deal with it at all. It's also an abused system. You work for Bet365 which is fine, they are a leader for a reason, but there are a shitload of bookies out there that used this system to fuck customers over. They'll ask for the ID's, then say the scan isn't high enough quality or that the document isn't valid for the check, they'll suspend people who want their money and shut them down. This was much more prevalent before the UK gambling commission made companies that wish to operate with UK customers obtain a licence as there were a shitload of dodgy internet operations, and there still are though most of them now you can't register with as a UK customer. But the system should definitely be made so that if providing ID is a prerequisite, then it should be done prior to any initial bet. That way everybody is protected from the offset, but that isn't in the interests of bookmakers because many people simply won't bother signing up in the first place.
You also state that bookies don't care about you winning x amount. 365 might not, but if betting companies aren't bothered about winners because they're making millions, then why do they limit winning accounts? I won a grand on Marathonbet and got limited to £1 stakes. I won on Ladbrokes and was limited there. I've won (and lost) on lots of bookies and been limited. To say that bookies don't care about you winning is quite obviously not true. All of these had my ID's so I'm not limited for any other reason than I've won money. I've not been limited on 365, but I don't really use you guys as the odds are generally not the best, but you must see that there's differences in the way you operate to all other bookmakers. And I'd be quite confident that 365 limit winning accounts at some stage. Do they/you?

I certainly agree that ID should be provided upon opening an account. With 365 you have a grace period from when you open your account and if you're not verified within this time then you're account will be temporarily suspended and we will request ID.

You're right in that if somebody is underage then any winnings have to be paid to them but any losses also count. The person would also then have to send in ID to show their age/identity before being able to withdraw any winnings or remaining funds.

Every bookie will limit certain accounts but it is a very small percentage of accounts that are limited. Also, it isn't just winning accounts that are limited, I've seen numerous losing accounts that become limited. There are a load of reasons why this would be the case. Generally though we aren't fussed by the average punter who wins the odd big accumulator.

When it's hardly spitting with rain so it's not worth putting your umbrella up but you know everyone's thinking "why is that pillock walking along in the rain with a folded down umbrella".

First world problems and all that...

Normally people stand on the right on a tube escalator, it is when they stand on the left as well that really grinds my gears, especially if you are in a hurry and trying to make a connection
This is why you need to give over and drive on the right like the rest of the world. How can you drive on the left but stand on elevators on the right? It's senseless!

Stopped reading after the first page, vomit inducing. Thankfully I believe governments now have ways of tracking people accessing this. Think I'm right in saying that the night where loads of paedophiles were arrested it was due to them monitoring the dark net...remember seeing an officer in a van with his computer open, he could pinpoint many suspects in close distance and even how regularly they downloaded/uploaded material to it. Scary that so many people are out there, the internet is fantastic and hideous in equal measures.

Yes I read that but unfortunately they only cracked the surface, there are still loads of these sick people out there unfortunately. I just wish that the resources that governments work together to bring those freaks to justice. There is a story in the article that is just heart breaking! And some of the arguments that they use to justify their actions are just awful.

People who say "It's just a joke!".

If you have to say it's a fucking joke, it's not. It's like me saying "It's just a key the length of your new car".

Apple Music.
It's already a big issue with iTunes Match not recognising half your music ripped from kosher CDs, but Apple Music will also remove all custom editing. If every other streaming music service can do it properly without interfering with your music collection, then why can't Tim Cook?

The fact I'm now the kind of person who, when the drinks trolley arrives on the train, orders a G&T rather than a lager/cider. What kind of monster have I become?

Exactly what I was thinking. I wish I had taken more as I've been delayed for ages but I'm driving at the other end so decided against it.
