Fisherman's Friend (or Fishy Friends as I called them as a kid) were a memorable part of my childhood. The old man always had a packet in his pocket. They were like Scooby snacks for me, handed out for good behaviour. Victory Vs too.

I remember in the mid/late 80's there was a bit of carze at our school, loads of kids had them, I bought them all the time....don't think I've ever had them since high school.

Never been fond of Fishermen's Friends. Perhaps I should try and develop a taste for them for my permanently blocked nostrils which get on my nerves.

There's a huge factory in Fleetwood that pumps them all out. Can't miss them around here.

The youngest Lofthouse working there now is in his 60s and has no kids. There are no shareholders outside the family and apparently it will change to a charitable trust when he dies and all profits will go into the local community. That's fantastic but a little sad at the same time, 150 years of legacy coming to an end in a way.

Winning the local 6 a side Leisure League when it goes down to the final night.

Also, having more league winners medals than Steven Gerrard.

Sore point with me as my double chin is rapidly obvious since i shaved my beard off :ffs: I best throw my razors out and grow facial hair again. :sna:
i've been struggling with my weight for years since I stopped working and went into studying. Ballooned under stress near the end of my degree to 20 and a half stone! Decided after I graduated to do something about it and for the next couple of years exercised my way back down to 14 and a half stone. Then my back went twice and I subsequently rose to 18 stone again, but finally my back is fine once more (and a good reason for me not to have it come back again is exercise it) and over the last three months I've lost around a stone and a half. Have extra incentives beside the back to keep at it this time.
