He was alright with us before, won a league title and took us to Wembley to win the JPT. On the other hand he took us back down to League 2 and we were bad, but we've been worse since so he can't have been that bad.

Is Paul Cook not available?

Problem with John Sheridan is - No NL.experience? Does he have the right contacts? Never stays anywhere for long and you may need someone to build a la Askey at Macc.

I’ve read that you’re interested in our assistant manager James Rowe?
Yeah I dunno what that's all about!?

The favourite is Ronnie Moore though who I would take any day of the week! Some much needed experience at the helm at last...

I’m sure most will agree, but you MUST appoint someone with non-leagues experience

Dodgy Ronnie Moore hasn't been a good manager for at least 10 years.

Ronnie Moore is a footballing dinosaur, worked well in a crisis but was fucking shite the season after.

Things really improved for you after you got rid of Ronnie then??

While I'm unsure that Ronnie is the long term solution for anything these days, as DSL says, there are far worse managers around. He might even have kept Wrecsam in play-off contention.

They are supposed to be pushing for promotion next season, hiring someone who hasn't won anything in the best part of 20 years isn't exactly a step forward.

Id be surprised if they are in the promotion picture. Expect a similar season to Pools/Orient.

We had a chairman embezzling funds, we could've had the lord God almighty in charge and we'd still of ended up here.

Chesterfield were in a crisis THIS season, no point in calling a firefighter round after your house has burnt to a crisp.

This is going to be horrific. We've got no business being down here, but we are due to piss poor management of the club this is where we are. The future of this club is dark and darker. We need a rich benefactor to come out of nowhere

I hear Nicky Law was at the Proact today.

In my opinion Nicky would be a fool to leave his position at Burnely.

But from Chesterfield`s point of view they could a whole lot worse.

Very experienced in NL. Knows what is required to compete in this legaue and is a good scout and can do well on a reduced budget.

What do Chesterfield fans think?

His association with the club and Darren Brown when we were in all that trouble in 2000/01 thanks to a dodgy owner that will stop him being wanted by all.

Not really sure how implicated he was but what went on at the club at the time certainly tarnished his rep somewhat.

I was a little too young to remember but the football was good, we were winning games and the crowds were good. And as a player he was very well thought of..

On the up side, this board is the best on the forum. The silver lining of going down I guess...
