Forest Green had one task and they did it well. They've come and done a job, got 3 points, and will go back South made up.

But they're a bunch of c***. Simple as. No interest in playing footy at all. Must have wasted about 15 mins at least in that game. Keeper getting "cramp" at 60 mins made me laugh. Staying down for non event injuries. Their manager Cooper is a Grade A wanker. They've got a good side with some brilliant players but would be good to see them actually try and play the game.

But we'll always be a bigger and better club than them from top to bottom. 9500 there today (170 away) proved that. Hope we do play em in the playoffs because going off how we played in that second half, and with a ref that knows what he's doing, we'd beat em.

Almost two years to the day Forest Green rocked up and ended our auto promotion hopes and we’ve let them do it again.

Slow start by us we let them dictate play and move the ball nicely. They always seemed to have the extra man and looked comfortable. Both their full backs especially Mills had the whole of Birkenhead to himself and the only surprise he didn’t make it count.

Mellon was always going to address it at halftime and shake us up. The early goal second half changed the game, they stopped playing their brand of football. I don’t know if it was because we raised our game and prevented it by getting in their faces or they seen it as hold what you have mentality and take no risks.

Plenty of possession for us followed but our finishing was poor. Apart from one or two saves we missed the target too often.

Norwood is definitely injured aswell, you could tell. Rest him Monday and give Mullin a go. Mellon has confirmed he has a tear so save him for playoffs.

Dont get the hysteria over their antics. If we’re all honest on here we’ve all watched our sides shithouse themselves to an underserved win so no problem there. Just got to hope for a stronger ref because he let them stretch it a little too far. We’re all frustrated in losing a game in which we deserved more.

That’s six without a win against Forest Green now and they join Swindon on our bogey team list.

With regards to the incident at the end a water bottle was tipped over your defender not sure about the alleged spit, hopefully it’s not true but if it is it’s cowardly and disappointing.

I’m convinced we’ll meet again in the playoffs and our luck against you will change it has to.

Didn't go to the game and only have the benefit of the radio commentary and a few match reports from here and our forum to go by. It sounds like a repeat of 2017 where my Rovers were largely spending their time trying to keep the Tranmere version at bay, there was even a shot that rattled the crossbar like the previous time. Sods law we will be meeting again in the play-offs...drawn together like the north and south poles of a magnet...I look forward to it, if it happens.

Just one more thing...I have met loads of Rovers fans, from both clubs, and the vast majority are not the sort of people to either smash up seats or spit at someone...people who do are morons, just to add a bit of balance.

The sky highlights (“highlights”) seemed to suggest Tranmere had plenty of chances but not many clear cut.....

We all have games like that....

Fuck me Tranmere fans on social media are bitter little c*** aren't they. So much salt in their tears.

Show some class and just accept you lost yet again ffs. We know how to beat you, simple as. Nothing to do with the ref, cheating, injuries, the weather, the pitch, vegans, tories or any other shit you lot are throwing around lol.

And then saying we lack class lmfao

Btw hope Ellis isn't too serious, top lad and quality player.
#

Yeah you know how to beat us ok and it`s not by playing football.Time and time again I have seen your disgraceful snidy team shirt pull, dive, time waste and basically cheat your way to an undeserved win. The only time I have seen you deserve to win was at Wembley and even then you resorted to 30 minutes of the usual underhand, shithouse tactics we have all come to expect from your club. Just how you get away with it is beyond most of us as for some reason referees, including todays idiot, seem to think that such playacting etc is acceptable . Well to real football fans who think that matches such be decided by the skill of the players your club are a fucking disgrace and a scab on the face of football.

One day we will actually get to play you with a full strength fully fit team and officials who will clamp down on your sides totally unacceptable methods and we will give you a hammering.

As for your comment about class your owner, your players, your pathetically small travelling support and above all your manager who after all is the instigator of all that is vile about your performances against us, and probably many other clubs as well, don`t know the meaning of the word. I just wish Swampy would get bored with owning a football club and pull the plug on your poxy little club and it sinks back to the level where it belongs.

Don't think we had a shot on target first half, the closest we came was a scramble after the FGR keeper dropped the ball. Only really got stuck in when Mellon changed things after their goal, which was a quality finish. Mullin did improve things, but not enough to make a difference. A draw would have been a fairer result, but the Forest Green curse goes on.

Perkins should be back in time for the play offs but I doubt Norwood will be fit again this season, which is obviously a major concern. He could hardly move today and should not have started the game in all honesty, not that I blame Mellon for a taking a gamble with him.

That is what really gets me. FGR can play football, and they outplayed us in the first half. Why they didn't carry on trying to play football is beyond me. Instead they cheated and played the ref, and rode their luck massively. If they'd carried on playing the way they did in the first half, they'd have still beaten us and done it fair and square.

It said it all to me that at the final whistle their players chose to go to the Kop to antagonise the home fans instead of going to their away fans. Horrible club.

We move on.

I think it was rather a case that many players were already in the goalmouth area at final whistle rather than choosing to go to the Kop.

It was Mills who put the ball in for the Goal, possibly not ment to reach Mondal, but there was oceans of space at that latitude, and Mondal was quick and running onto the ball, which probably helped.

Call it superstition but your last sentence does sound like it should be so, I guess the gods that Coops prays too, are firmly on his side! Although our players should rightly take the praise, you must be our cup final team!

One thing thats not been mentioned on here is forest green had the most clear cut penalty turned down in injury time , it looked like nelson dived full length to palm a shot away.... 2nd worst ref ive seen at prenton closely behind the fool v swindon

Our BBC match commentary team mentions that point, and with some incredulity that it went by un-noticed by the ref. Sadly not included in the very brief match highlights.

If you read the thread I started on Joyce who reffed our game with you i clearly state you deserved to win and the ref was as inept for both sides. But thanks for the intelligent input mate

My seats in line with the 18 yard line and from where we were it was clear cut mate. nelson dived from thr 6 yard line towards the touchline ( or is that rugby) and palmed it away. As clear a peno as ive seen all season

I think it was rather a case that many players were already in the goalmouth area at final whistle rather than choosing to go to the Kop.

Unfortunately that just wasn't the case. They came towards the Kop pointing, gesturing and mock laughing, which obviously got some 'tasty' responses from our fans.

With regards to whether FGR deserved the win, I don't think many are denying that they did after their first half display. They had a gameplan, however unsavoury, and we couldn't finish our dinner. Its probably Mellon's biggest tactical gap - we struggle when we're chasing a game and the opposition employ spoiling tactics. Fortunately not many teams do it to anywhere near the level that Cooper's FGR do it.

I agree we’re missing the absent midfielders, especially Perkins. Harris and Banks didn’t ask enough questions of the Forest Green midfield and their grip on the game stemmed from that. However as Stripes mentions above there was a lot of space for their goal, which extended to other periods in the game, where their left-back, who was my MoM impressed. Shouldn’t Morris and Caprice have been giving more attention there?

We still need 2 points to make the play-offs certain.

As Mark says above, Swindon deserved their, win along with Mansfield, the best side I’ve seen in the league this season. That doesn’t mean that the referee can’t be poor and I’d agree that Ross Joyce was, though it didn’t affect the outcome.

Mr Whitestone, who used to be one of the better officials at this level, did not get a grip on this game in terms of the visitors time wasting and there were a couple of cynical challenges when cards could have been produced. However perhaps if he’d got more control, Forest Green would have kept playing the way they did before the goal and won more comprehensively...

We did not get tight enough to their left back, but we did not get tight enough anywhere on the pitch. I think this stemmed from Norwood's injury, as he usually instigates the press with his chasing and harrying, but hardly did any of that yesterday. Banks will never work hard enough out of possession, which is why we need Perkins back.

Because FGR had control in midfield, their full backs were able to raid forward at will. They could not have done that if we had not allowed them such comfortable possession in the middle of the pitch.

Worth mentioning Brown, we man marked him much of the game but he looked one of the most talented opposition played we’ve faced in the league this season. Notice he’s out of contract in the summer.

We deliberately conceded possession to their left back. It only became an issue when our cms switched off for a brief moment and they scored.

Not a chance of Tranmere getting Brown lol.

Funny thing is Tranny fans saying that they'd hammer us in an open free flowing game. Obviously haven't watched us much, inc the game at our place. If you want an open total football type game, there ain't many better then us at it in this league. Be a lot more then just 1-0. We're the better side in every area.

No I’ve never had that pleasure. All I have ever seen from your lot is shithouse football except for a period during the Wembley game when we had half our team missing. I’ll stand by my statement that given our full side being fully fit with a strong referee we would beat you and that the greatest of pleasure doing it.

You would beat us? Based on what? All the other times you've beaten us? Oh.

Different refs, different players, different grounds. Same result.

The modern day Corinthian Casuals are cruelly robbed by the dark forces of All That is Wrong. Or the away side timewasted a bit, upsetting their own game as much as anything else, one or the other (not to mention the worst ref decision being missing a pen for us). If we actually did shithouse a bit more we'd be pushing the automatics not hoping for a play-off spot.

Exactly. Lost a bit of respect for some of the Tranmere lot tbh. Total lack of class. Can't handle a loss it seems.

If that really was our master plan, I’d have serious worries. Give the ball to their best player and expect Ollie Banks the central midfielder on our right to snuff everything out. What were Caprice and Morris meant to be doing while all this was going on?
