I still think Courtois is the slightly better keeper to be honest, he's asked to do more in terms of being a sweeper than De Gea. Both are incredible of course. De Gea a better shot stopper, Courtois has more command of his box.

In my incontestable, MOTD-informed opinion, I think there's barely a hair's breadth between the two of them. If someone could do the leg-work of finding out who had the temerity to hold a strong opinion on this issue in 2012, could they please PM me. Ta.

How very well dare you. What of it? The poor lad has been suffering with persistent potential career ending injuries since 2014, so people who didn't watch him (ie. the vast majority of the forum) will never know how high his peak could have been unfortunately. What we do know for a fact, however, is that Daddy Krul was putting in MOTM performances in European fixtures at the ever so tender age of 18. De Gea, on the other hand, was repeatedly flapping and trembling at the sight of crosses, and consistently conceding to his near post in his early to mid 20's. And the latter is still a glaring issue, one Timothy never had for the record.

What we also know, and simply cannot dispute, is that my track record is unmatched (and that Zaha still has no end product ofc) and as such a little respect is due. Which is why I must demand you retract the comment questioning my state of mind and immediately apologise publicly. Perhaps only our very good friend and forum legend Dessy can compare, and he's not around anymore. I assume due to the prolonged hate campaign and sustained harassment Beelo and his Liverpool mates subjected the lad to. And I don't blame him at all for leaving. Having been vindicated in the 2015 awards his good work was finally done. I personally know all too well what happens when you present them with facts, and it isn't for the faint hearted. So instead of our very good friend Dessy we now have that 'murican meme machine and that other Swedish fella who thinks Messi is going to Liverpool on a free as forum regulars. And people wonder why it's slowly dying. Where's the justice? Same place as the mythical Nintendo I guess.

But I digress. The main point to take away from this post is that a guru never argues, I calmly drop knowledge and enlighten. As I recently did with regards to FdB and Palace btw.

I'm not getting into GB ego territory. I still love ya, and Zaha does have end product BTW, hence we are bottom with zero points and goals.

Ozil to be sold in January according to some tabloids which probably means he won't be!

Seems to be some noise about coming to United on a free. Would be happy with that, Jose knows how to get the best out of him and at his best he is a level above Mikhi and Mata.

Ex Liverpool and Chelsea midfielder Raul Meireles has been touted around a few Premier league clubs by his agent it seems.

Mind you the guy hasn't played in almost a year.

Luke Shaw being linked with us if we decide to sell Bertrand.

Wouldn't be too disappointed if we sold Bertrand in January. He doesn't look bothered this season.

Wouldn't have Shaw back though.

Shaw reached ‘player of huge potential’ level due to being both technically and physically gifted. However, it’s been well known by many that his mental attributes are perhaps lacking and that is now showing at Manchester United. I’ve also seen from United fans on social media that Shaw is even struggling to make an impact in their Under-23s these days. Whether that is due to a lack of effort/motivation, or his body struggling after his injury, he is unlikely to get much better at Southampton.

Plus he’s guaranteed to be Tottenham’s replacement for Danny Rose.

I felt for him when he suffered the injury and lowered my expectations during his recovery but he was poor before the injury and he's been no better in youth and senior games since returning to action - get rid.

We need to address our left back situation because we've got a busted flush (Shaw), a midfielder-turned cb-turned full back utility man (Blind) and a player who can defend and nothing else (Darmian).

lol!

Here are some other excuses you can use, from us:
  • literally one player (usually a full-back) is past it and letting the whole team down. We need to replace him.
  • we've got a new full-back and made a few more signings so the team needs more time to gel
I never thought they'd go with the TWO full-backs line. You never go full full-back.

You spent £30 million pounds on one when that was a lot of money. What's happened to him?

He was shit, then he was good for six games, then he broke his leg, then he was shit.

His boyhood club want him (River Plate) and a Chinese club have apparently offered to triple his current salary.

He won't be coming back here unfortunately. Would be damn handy protecting our leaky defence. Or improving it by replacing one of the clowns currently paying there.

Can't see us selling him mid season. Plus he's CL locked anyway so would be of limited use to Barcelona before summer.

He'll go in the summer I reckon, if the price is right. We made our point, keeping him any longer would be a bit pointless.

I don't think you'll miss him much either. Keita into the 4-3-3 (I presume you'll play a 4-3-3, even though you've played other formations this season) in Coutinho's place brings better balance and more protection for your defence and with the front three you have I don't think you'll miss the Brazilian's goals.

You might miss his free kicks.
