Indeed. Although it was us that lost out, like with Coutinho, it's good to see clubs stand up and keep players they don't want to sell rather than chase the money. Can you imagine an owner like Ashley turning down that type of money?

A single unitary authority for urban Dorset
Leicester's transfer deal for midfielder Adrien Silva, or at least the registration to play him - is currently void, after the paperwork was 14 seconds too late in arriving at the FA. The FA passed the issue onto FIFA, who've ruled against Leicester. Leicester and the FA are trying to resolve the issue, otherwise he'll have to wait until January to actually be able to play. Which would presumably leave Leicester a little short in midfield having sold Drinkwater.

VvD to Liverpool is supposed be a done deal and he will join the club in January according to Ian McGarry.

Tim Krul now a permanent Brighton player, meaning he can play Newcastle on Sunday. I did not know that was allowed.

I've not followed Newcastle properly for some time, but wasn't Krul meant to be proper quality? I remember him being talked about as being one of the best in the league 4-5 years back. Why have Newcastle let him go? Has his quality gone down the toilet?

He spent an age out with various injuries, then went on loan to Ajax and then AZ Alkmaar. Don't think he got a game for Ajax before they cancelled it, and wasn't very good for AZ either. In the mean time, Newcastle found out they had two or three goalkeepers of near enough similar quality.

Shame. Fingers crossed he can keep fit and find his form again.

Been at the club 12 years and was our longest serving player, shame he was ruined by injuries as he was quality before that. Will always remember his debut away at Palermo as a teenager, so much pressure on him but he was superb.

Ox's fee is a pittance these days and he'll look a bargain over the coming seasons. Can't speak for Drinkwater, but Sigurdsson is way ott for just a decent player.

I look at the longer picture mate as you know. He was turd that game as was Hendo, but I've also seen what both can do when in form, and Ox will kick on over the next few years undoubtedly. I, unlike a lot of fans these days, give people time. :hypo:

I still maintain Chamberlain was a bit of a strange purchase. Almost as if he was bought because he was available and we could buy him, rather than we had any real need for him.

Wasn't GB trying to argue with me that he was better than De Gea?

Injuries, if he can sustain some fitness I think he would walk into a Premier League starting position.

I remember GB arguing with someone. I thought it was Silky about Hart. Which means he was likely correct

It wasn't G.B, he's one of the most knowledgeable on here.

It was probably a Liverpool fan backing Charles Itandje as better then De Gea.

It was G.B and yes it was De Gea.

He has however since claimed that it wasn't entirely serious. Which it was, fyi.

He wasn't far off to be fair a few years back. I really did used to rate him, seems to have gone downhill for him in recent years

If he was making the argument shortly after De Gea arrived on the Premier League's shores, he would have been correct. Krul was excellent 5 or 6 years ago, and De Gea was still flapping at crosses.

Of course I was correct at the time and entirely serious. Have you ever known me to troll on this forum? As I said, shame injuries ruined him or he'd likely be keeping goal for Man Utd or Real Madrid by now. Unfortunately the casuals among us will never know how good he would have been.

I remember the only argument against me was one clip of Krul miskicking a clearance. When I replied with multiple clips of De Gea essentially throwing the ball in his own net and weeping at the sight of a cross the debate slowed down somewhat :dk:

de gea fucked up a lot that first season and consensus on the forums was that courtois was the better goalkeeper, true story.

Mate, I remember us debating this late 2014, I only remember because we had that 'debate' when I was on the way to a work medical. I knew my piss test was alright, your sanity on the other hand....

How very well dare you. What of it? The poor lad has been suffering with persistent potential career ending injuries since 2014, so people who didn't watch him (ie. the vast majority of the forum) will never know how high his peak could have been unfortunately. What we do know for a fact, however, is that Daddy Krul was putting in MOTM performances in European fixtures at the ever so tender age of 18. De Gea, on the other hand, was repeatedly flapping and trembling at the sight of crosses, and consistently conceding to his near post in his early to mid 20's. And the latter is still a glaring issue, one Timothy never had for the record.

What we also know, and simply cannot dispute, is that my track record is unmatched (and that Zaha still has no end product ofc) and as such a little respect is due. Which is why I must demand you retract the comment questioning my state of mind and immediately apologise publicly. Perhaps only our very good friend and forum legend Dessy can compare, and he's not around anymore. I assume due to the prolonged hate campaign and sustained harassment Beelo and his Liverpool mates subjected the lad to. And I don't blame him at all for leaving. Having been vindicated in the 2015 awards his good work was finally done. I personally know all too well what happens when you present them with facts, and it isn't for the faint hearted. So instead of our very good friend Dessy we now have that 'murican meme machine and that other Swedish fella who thinks Messi is going to Liverpool on a free as forum regulars. And people wonder why it's slowly dying. Where's the justice? Same place as the mythical Nintendo I guess.

But I digress. The main point to take away from this post is that a guru never argues, I calmly drop knowledge and enlighten. As I recently did with regards to FdB and Palace btw.

What a RANT. I'm glad you opened up, you should give Dessy a call and tell him how you feel. If you never try you'll never know.

I still think Courtois is the slightly better keeper to be honest, he's asked to do more in terms of being a sweeper than De Gea. Both are incredible of course. De Gea a better shot stopper, Courtois has more command of his box.

Early morning coffee on the last work day of the week Beelo mate, it inspires. I'd love to give our very good friend Dessy a call but is it really worth it? To bring him back in to such a toxic environment? He more than earned his freedom imvho and that.
