Keita's better anyway.

I do think you need to buy a proper defensive midfielder, though.

Can has finally agreed the move to Juventus according to reports in Italy. Shame, I would have liked him to stay as he is decent but he was never going to get the offer from Liverpool he wanted simply because he's not in the top draw. To put simply, if Liverpool really wanted him to stay they would have tabled an offer that meant he would have.
I think the sticking point was that Can and his agent wanted a release fee included which Liverpool weren't willing to do. Unfortunately he'll be another off before he hits his peak; he'll be brilliant over there. I do think he's always excellent in the European games and hence Italy will suit him well.
Keita's better anyway.

Keita is an 8 though. Can does play in the 8 but is mainly a 6. Thought we'd need 2 players in if we lost Coutinho and Can, and I stick by that, even with Keita incoming. Unless Klopp pushes Ox on and fancies him there, and trains up Alexander-Arnold in midfield too, which is his main position anyway. A more defensive player would still be needed in either case anyway.

I don't think Klopp will be too bothered by it though, as he'll see with Coutinho leaving (a player he probably wouldn't have bought in anyway, just one he stuck in as he was so good) and now Can; a prospect of forging the midfield truly in his image.

Yup. We haven't had a top class DM since Masc left for Barca.

That was exactly the sticking point, but Liverpool have other players with release clauses (including VvD I've read) so if they really wanted Can to stay they would have included it. To put simply, they would have been happy for him to stay but weren't going to lose sleep if he decided as he appears to have done, to move to Italy.

Yeah, that's what I mean.

At the moment, in my opinion, you've got a midfield full of jack-of-all-trades players and, as good as Keita is, he won't change that all that much - despite being an upgrade. Can, Henderson, Wijnaldum etc. You need a defensive midfielder and probably also a playmaker to round out the three.

Yeah I see that too. We can be a bit 'samey' in midfield and can lack creativity at times (though other times tbf with those in the side has racked up big wins this season). Who he gets in, your guess is as good as mine mate, but midfield is always paramount to Klopp, and I can see this time next season our midfield will be a lot stronger. Hopefully after that its just tweaking the defense, and then see if we can put together a real title shot over the next few seasons.

Slowly but surely he's making us better, though as we all know, the side is still capable of shooting itself in the foot on semi-regular occasions. At times Iike those, I actually wish we were a bit more solid like you lot!

Evra still looked good at Marseille before deciding to Cantona a fan.
It's unlike to spout bollocks chimp. Evra was awful at Marseille. If he was good, Marseille would have thought twice before sacking him and paying him the rest of his wages.

I watched a small number of games and he didnt look awful at all. I dont think Marseille conceded in any of them.

Your standars are too low my friend.

EDIT: in the 4 league games he played, Marseille conceded 3 goals.

Toby wants to leave the Spurs Project. Apparently he's been on £50k all this time even though he's one of the best defenders in the league and possibly Europe. I bet he ends up at Man Utd. They like paying huge wages and need a centre back.

City would be mad not to go for him. Rumoured to want Maguire, who is excellent on the ball, but Alderweireld is the best in the league.
Liverpool should make him their prime target. Offer him a disgusting wage to partner VvD.
If Utd keep De Gea and got the Belgian, they'd only concede about 3 goals a season!

But you got Jones and Smalling, two titanic defenders! You don't need a bit of Toby!

Jones has been really good this season tbf.

Alderweireld can pick his next club if he wishes to leave, wouldn't be surprised to see him at United, City, Madrid, PSG or Barcelona.

They become dead to me! Same when Sterling buggered off to City.

Was another bit of folly from Maureen to bring Zlatan back yet again, another indication he's losing his marbles.

As a fellow appreciator I have to say it's a shame that he went through that injury. He had another good season in him without it, probably.

At least we won't have to live with "but is Zlatan going to the world cup" tedious chatter in the Swedish press.

They plan to research how it was that a self-confessed lion managed to have human offspring.

Can will never be a top echelon player, but there will be plenty of other big clubs interested in him on a free.
