I dunno, I think if they want him enough they'll still get him, it may just be more drawn out now, and the president of Lyon will get what he wants with a Fakir move probably happening post-World Cup. As long as we don't spunk it on Shaqiri as his replacement, I'm confident enough it could still be on.

Cynical tactic to shift season tickets.

Just checked the dates. After the World Cup Final that leaves just three weeks to get a deal done. Lets hope they are keeping in contact with each other (this happened with RB Leipzig and Southampton last season when it looked like deals for Keita and VVD were dead in the water), and come to some sort of agreement once the World Cup is over. Hope France come home early now so we could get this over the line asap!

If he has a stormer at the World Cup it'll add another £20M to his value.

Which is precisely why Klopp wanted it sorted prior. Still, if he ends up with another injury it could be a blessing. Hopefully it's neither and ends up a case of as you were.

Considering how stacked France are wherever Fekir can play, I think it's safe to assume he won't tear up any trees.

Real Madrid midfielder Marco Asensio has threatened to quit the club amid interest from Liverpool according to reports.

Wouldn't mind seeing him playing for us.

Really!

Anyway, I don't see this happening myself.

Patricio hopefully signing for us this week. Sporting CP's owner is taking us and Mendes to court about it, I presume he will do so with any club who buys those other players who have terminated their contracts too.

We've bid 18m to Levante for Colombian international Jefferson Lerma, a defensive midfielder which would be cracking if he's any good.

But because we love attacking signings...We're also asking Everton about Dominic Calvert-Lewin, whether he'd be available be it perhaps a loan or a transfer.

We've signed Josh Murphy from Norwich. Fucking yay....

I'm disappointed to see him go but it's a really good price for him. He has all the necessary abilities to go far but he's inconsistent and I don't know how good the mental side of his game is. If the first 15 minutes go well for him he seems to have a stormer, if not his head goes down and he goes missing. He's frustrating but I think all young wingers are.

Reports in Italy have suggested Thomas Strakosha could be Liverpool's next goalkeeping target - with the Lazio stopper priced at £35m.
SportItalia suggest the Italian club are willing to sell their number-one goalkeeper - but for a significant price.

Rhian Brewster just signed his first pro contract with Liverpool till 2023. No Werner then. Personally, I want to see this lad given chances, heard a lot about him.

Jack Wilshere has announced he is leaving Arsenal on a free transfer (plus a high signing on fee no doubt)

Well I for one won't be losing any sleep over Jack leaving, Good luck to him where ever he ends up but he was just to injury prone and 13 goals 23 assists in 203 apps isn't good enough

I’m a Jack Wilshere fan, I like players who are naturally gifted. It’s been such a shame that his injury record has harmed his Arsenal career so much as he was brilliant when fit.

He’s still only 26 so I hope he gets a good move and has a long and decent career somewhere else.

Will say it again, never understood the big deal with Wilshere. Good player, but his potential was ridiculously overplayed at one point. Injuries obviously haven't helped and have no doubt hampered his progress, but even without them he he was never going to be world class in my opinion.

Wilshere will go to a midtable PL side and be one of their better players. That's the level he's at. I'd take him back here if he'd drop his wage demands into something we could afford. Although I suppose we don't really need him with Lewis Cook in the side, but you always want quality.

Some elements of his game are just excellent, some are badly lacking, he's poorly rounded for a central midfielder. Part of that is probably down to injuries. Maybe part of that goes down to Arsenal and Wenger and their coaching over the last decade.

Football is full of talented players who don't hit their upper ceiling of potential, and many of them drop a hell of a lot lower than Wilshere is going to drop.

I was hoping we would go for him, but I doubt he will touch us after how we treated his best friend Afobe.

Tadic leaving us to join Ajax. Disappointed we've let him go and no doubt JWP will be his replacement.

Looks like we're signing Stuart Armstrong from Celtic.

Liverpool have turned their attentions to Sweden goalkeeper Robin Olsen, according to a report in the Daily Mirror.

Jurgen Klopp has been linked with a host of top goalkeepers but has yet to finalise a deal for one.

Olsen is the Swedish no.1 and has impressed for FC Copenhagen this season.
