I did watch him at Newcastle where he was regularly their best player. He can beat men and score goals. Ligue 1 isn't vastly inferior to the Premier League. Let's not forget where we got Kante from. Batshuayi, a striker, is costing Chelsea £32-35mill having scored 4 more goals in more games than Arfa who isn't a striker and played at a worse club.
We had 2 real goal threats last season, we need more.
Ask Newcastle fans what they think of him and most thought he was great. If Ranieri doesn't think he'll fit in he'll drop his interest.

If he was so great why get rid of him ? Do you see any other premier league teams being connected with him ? Mane for 34m or Ben Arfa for free are you saying Klopp can't spot a player ?.
This is all about opinion and yours is as valid as mine, the last thing I want is to get into an argument with another city fan.
But so far it seems most managers agree with me, if such a brilliant player is available for free, then why are we the only team being mentioned in connection with him.

Get rid? His contract is up and he doesn't want to stay. Nice want to keep him. Sevilla are interested in him, as are Lyon.
Apparently his agent went to Saints as well, but he wants to play in the CL. No go for Klopp then!
SSN is saying he's agreed to go to PSG anyway.

Why did Newcastle get rid, not to mention Hull ? Jesus I know why he is leaving Nice !. I'm not sure Newcastle got anything for him?. He had 5 years in English football and was a flop, PSG suit him the Harlem Globetrotters of European football.

He was on loan at Hull til his newcastle contract ended. He left Newcastle after falling out with Pardew.

You are telling me things I know, 5 years 13 goals and loads of trouble.
I don't want players who are just coming because we are in the champions league, this year will realistically be a one off, I don't want players coming who think they deserve something they have not earned.

I bet Benteke will reject Palace.
On to the other news, odds been slashed for Depay to Liverpool. Weird.

It won't happen, but it would be hilarious to see it given how many times you've called him shit this season!

You asked a question, I gave an answer.
As I said Ranieri will not take him on if he doesn't think he has the right attitude. His problems at Newcastle came down to Pardew, a tit, I doubt he'd have the same issues with Claudio. He's not had any fallings out at Nice.

Love your attitude - ignore the facts - Padrew a tit - top six when he left Newcastle and saved Palace !. Can't say I like the bloke given that I don't know him personally, but the facts don't point to him being a bad manager.

Did you see his dance?

If you did then you've seen enough about him to form a personal opinion.

To be fair, Ben Arfa's exit from Hull wasn't quite that simple.

Bruce didn't rate him, I suppose that makes him a tit as well.
I know you've been linked with him as well, which makes sense seeing as you have just sold Mane for 34m and your owners seem to run the club as their own personal cash making machine.
Where are you spending all the money you are making, do you get cheap season tickets or something ?. What's your record signing ?.

Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.
He's obviously getting on and not the player he was.

For the record though, during his best seasons (2011-2014) he's one of the best full backs I've ever seen in the Premier League. At his best, he was absolutely fantastic and should definitely be talked about in the same breath as Cole and Evra in their primes. And to state something I'm confident you'll agree with ten times over, if he played for Liverpool or United, he would be.

He's certainly on his way down, but I was hoping he'd hang around as a squad player for a season or two. If nothing else, it would be nice to give one of the first wave of new players a testimonial.

I think the general rule for testimonials is the player has been with the club for a decade or more.

Our record signing is Osvaldo for £16m, who we terminated the contract of.

We buy cheap and sell for a profit, it's worked so far, but probably will all come crashing down soon. I hope the money goes into the infrastructure of the club.

No chance will Ben Arfa come here though. 30 years old, bad character and he himself will be looking for one final pay day after a few years of crap wages as a footballer.

Well we agree about Ben Arta's character. You have a higher record fee than us, but seeing some of the prices so far that will probably change. We are showing some ambition in regards of trying to keep players - but we tried that before and crashed and burned. Fingers crossed we are not making the same mistake.

L'Equipe reckons that Mourinho is after Pogba and that he wants us to line up in a 433 formation. Whether or not we get Pogba (I doubt we will) it seems like Rooney will be part of a midfield duo backed by a holding midfielder and our front three will be Martial - Zlatan - Mkhitaryan.

That's one hell of a front three.

Di Marzio claiming Mkhitaryan is also done.

Newcastle made a profit surprisingly. Don't really rate Townsend at Premier League level, I think he looked good at Newcastle because embarrassingly him having a potshot from 30 yards was more effective than Newcastle's chance creation. He will probably start off well at Palace and drop off because, well, we know who their manager is.
