Easy enough, work for me he'll say, win the league and become a legend. At City or Chelsea you'd be just another cog. It may be that he fancies working under Klopp more so than Guardiola too.
The other clubs? Well it would be true I'd say as both City and Chelsea have won the league fairly regularly, whilst Liverpool haven't done so for so long now, that any of those players that were to potentially win the league with them would go down as legends (under this generations set of fans anyway).Bit harsh to say they have lower standards of what they consider a legend

Shift Sakho for £30 mill then its only £30 mill net from there, not too bad then?Paul Joyce says he wants Liverpool but fee yet to be agreed.
Are we really going to spend 60m?
Also Emil Forsberg should be on Klopp's radar.
Redmen had a Liverpool fan whose a Bundesliga journalist on their site the other day and he was pretty much saying the same thing, that the only player potentially that could switch to Liverpool from all the rumours floating around, was Naby Keita, and even then that would be at a push as Leipzig have no intention of selling anyone as they want to give the CL a good go.Forsberg and Timo Werner was mentioned too. Are the Reds doing "Bayern's job" to weaken the Bundesliga Opponents when they show some quality .
Nah, seriously: I don't think one of them will go now to Liverpool. It's too exciting at the moment at Leipzig with the Champions League next season and some hope that Bayern won't be so dominant next season after Lahm and Alonso retired, Boateng again injured....(yeah, I know they'll win it nonetheless but man can hope )

Real will surely be selling Benzema or Bale along with James to fund that one if it were true!50m squids for Saints by the looks of it. That's another top dollar sale they'll bank assuming it completes, they negotiate well. Liverpool again though..
Meanwhile various papers report Real Madrid will bid 135m Euro for Mbappe...Not a PL rumour I know, but wow.
He looked class at Celtic and Southampton paid big bucks (for the former at least) to get him, and he has excelled in the PL and is an upgrade on Lovren that's for sure. Said it before, if he could help cut down by 10-15 in the goals against class, then it's money very well spent. The fact that he chose us over City and Chelsea makes me more keen but I'm still not convinced he's top class. But then again there aren't many alternatives out there and we desperately need another centre back. It's a shitload of money though.
Les Reed can fuck off if he sells yet another one of our best players to Liverpool, it's a fucking joke.
I wouldn't pin too many of your hopes on Liverpool signing Lindelöf; United have supposedly been working on a deal to sign him for months with the final details including a medical being arranged as we speak.
Sadly I know, he would have been great for us, but it seems he is United bound, although anything can happen.

£50m would be disappointing.
I do respect your opinion Harv and you're right, I was quite ambivalent towards Mané until he just hit the ground running and hasn't stopped since. You won't regret this one Bill. Same as the Mane one last summer and the latter has far exceeded initial expectations at Liverpool.
£30m for Mane looks cheap these days.

That said, don't you agree that van Dijk still has some way to go? He's still rash in challenges I feel and his positional play isn't the best. The latter doesn't show as much because he's so incredibly good in the air, but I fear it will be a telling weakness when he has to cover more space for us than he does for Southampton. Similar to how Lovren's weaknesses showed when he signed for us, albeit for him it was more a case of questionable decision making.
I don't know, I just feel that if we're going to nigh double our transfer record on a centre back it should be a player for whom there are no doubts about, and van Dijk isn't quite there yet I feel. Maybe Southampton going along with your line of arguing could be the best for all parties.
