Sounds good to me - I believe from the way Gannon talked about the target (not heard the interview myself yet mind) that it is someone who we would have to pay wages for rather than a kid on loan from the Prem/Championship.

Yep, does look like Tom Champion is the player given the rumours. Can't remember him so have no ideas about his quality, but TBH the Cowleys haven't done bad with player recruitment so far.

Is he a winger? Seems a weird one if so, but a couple of people did say that we had had talks over him last Thursday but I've no idea whether that's true.

No, his best position is just behind the striker (a no.10) or central midfield playmaker which is where he likes to play. We have used him on the left and right in a midfield four, but you'd never call him a winger. The best defence splitting passer of a ball i have seen at this level, & scores some spectacular goals and freekicks. He's without doubt been our star man over the last 4 seasons, but the new manager doesnt even include him in the matchday 16. Bizarre!
