We're apparently trying to sign Dan Cockerline from Northwich (think he's on loan from Curzon Ashton). League clubs also after him though.

He's be our third attacker from Northwich in under a year!

We've bid for Simeon Akinola according to the Braintree manager.

Elliot Whitehouse was also at the game with his girlfriend by all accounts. I know the Cowleys rate the Nuneaton MF so that's an interesting rumour to go with the Akinola one.

Danny Cowley has said we've made an enquiry not a bid, not sure with the difference really lol!!
Margetts was at the game yesterday too, potentially back on loan is the rumour.

Well if we are competing against Nuneaton we may as well give up now.

It sound alike we might offer him something if we can offload some existing players. Otherwise there is nothing in the pot.

Great shame that we've already used the entirety of the budget plus a little bit more. Just shy of 700 grand . Don't have much to show for it do we?

I thought he looked good when on loan at Nuneaton but what went wrong at Halifax? Having a good season so far by all accounts.

Good old Danny, up to tricks again.
To be fair, Cowley didn't comment on it until the Braintree manager decided to tell everyone in his post match interview that we'd bid for him, which isn't the case.

So that list he gave to Sky Sports was actually just his shopping list that was leaked to the press?
Basically. Not quite on the Luton Town whiteboard level, though.

We've not done very well with trying to sign attacking players this season, mind. Missed out on Jennings, Southwell, Bradley and Miller (for the time being).

Taylor-Fletcher has now signed for Accrington.

Echoing EnglishRed's post, I was thinking "Christ, we're losing out on players to Accrington now..." until I remembered that Accrington are a League club and Wrexham very much aren't.

Maybe that's the penny finally dropping. Only took 8 years. We beat Arsenal, you know.

We're signing someone from another national league club, rumours suggest a centre back

Where has this trend come from of having to feel the need to thank the other club for dealing in a professional manner?

Good old Danny, up to tricks again.

Isn't it just, he may well be adhering to the rules, but only just. Some may claim he's being clever, but such tittle tattle could at best unsettle the players he links himself with whilst seriously pissing off the chairman and managers of their clubs

Well, not really, because, once again, the other Club has decided to disclose that we've made an enquiry for some reason. We've not let the cat out of the bag. The first thing anyone knew about it was when the Braintree manager decided to blurt it out in his post-match interview on Saturday.

We also tried to sign him in the summer, but nothing was said about that because Braintree kept quiet.

Not saying it is the case, but why is the news of any transfer dealings your Gaffer wants to get involved with always 'reputedly' leaked by the team and or staff of the player you would like to take?
I do think he will be a very decent signing, strong pacey, eye for goal. The problem you have though are numerous. Price is always an issue, where in the £20-£40K would you put his worth, would he want to relocate, and the biggest one, like Miller in fairness, is that come January they can both sign agreements to move for nothing in the summer, and the better they play, presumably the more interested parties there will be, so it's conundrum time. Does Cowley/Lincoln pay a bit OTT to ensure they get their man, or stick with what they've got?
Personally everyone down at the Crabble hope you do sign the lad as it means you've got no interest or chance in signing Miller, but with his form, especially being played out of position never seeming to dip there is I fear an air of resigned inevitability that every game that passes takes us one match nearer a January departure.
Regardless of the actual truth of who spreads what and who says it first, whilst not illegal, your gaffer is rather making a reputation for himself for telling the world, and other teams, how highly he rates some of their best players and that alone will piss many clubs, chairmen and managers right off.

He's not exactly going to come out and say he doesn't rate the player given that he's enquired about them. Akinola and Miller are the only two players under contact we're trying/tried to sign and the rest were out of contract.

Akinola is being ear-marked for a wide position (although he may have to fill centrally until we get another striker), so I don't think the Miller interest will be going away tbh. I'm pretty certain we'll be trying again in January or before.

Wrexham you need a striker right? Or Eastleigh you guys love buying strikers don't you? If so please take Danny Rowe away from Fylde. Scored 19 goals in 13 this season and I think most North fans would appreciate it.

Is that the Danny Rowe we had at Lincoln in the 13/14 season or the other one?

Yeah, it is. He's ripping it up for Fylde.

Looked technically good during his time at Lincoln but never seemed to get fully fit. I don't think he's quite as good as he's being made to look at the moment, but fair play to him. Just goes to show what some players can achieve when they're settled and being played every week.

He looked very good today. Scored one from 20 odd yards. He can win headers and his shot power is amazing. One of the best players I've seen play at Aggborough in recent years.

The laziest player I've ever seen in a Barrow shirt. Looked like he had ability, but really couldn't be arsed in our relegation season. I don't think he'd do all that well at the level above.

Ben Jefford's been put on the transfer list. Decent left back, good defensively not quite good enough going forward for Cooper's liking though.

Any takers?
