Ben Jefford's been put on the transfer list. Decent left back, good defensively not quite good enough going forward for Cooper's liking though.

Any takers?

Yes please. We desperately need a left back (and a defence) that can defend.

Can't recall having seen Jefford play though.

Might have played against you for Welling? Was very highly rated there.

He's about 6'ft (apparently) so pretty tall for a full back, but not quite tall enough to sign for you lot.

Woking wouldn't be a bad choice, good manager, regular game time and he'll probably want to stay in the south as he coaches at an academy in Southampton.

Why would he sign to play in the National South next season though :bg1:

rumours that Curtis Tilt is being watched by Championship teams.... only saving grace is that we would get to keep him until January!

I saw that from the Non League Rumours account on twitter if that's the only source I wouldn't trust it. I swear most people just submit random rumours to them.

Regular goalscorer for them from midfield this season including one yesterday. Already been to see us play a couple of weeks ago. By all accounts a good young player very much the kind of players we need to keep us moving forward.

Nuneaton forum reporting he's in for a medical tomorrow, but I'm not sure whether they've read that on one of our forums from someone who might not be ITK and is just guessing (he might be ITK for all I know).

Cowley did say one signing is pretty close and another still on-going. Whitehouse and Akinola are pretty much nailed on to be the two he's talking about.

It's about time we sorted a proper CM partner for Woodyard, though. We've done well to get through the first 15 games without one.

We also need a partner for Rhead as much as we need one for Woodyard IMO.

If they are, we might as well not bother e.g. Dan Bradley.

Think Whitehouse has scored 19 in 43 for Nuneaton so that would do us well if he could replicate anything like that form a league higher. Rumoured fee believed to be £30k, 15k of that off to Halifax via a sell on.

Aren't AFC Fylde after Whtiehouse as well?

Yes we are. Had a bid accepted last week but couldn't agree terms with Whitehouse. Has been said he is settled in the area and would take a big offer to move to Fylde.

Apparently we have opened talks again, but I believe he will go to Lincoln.

Meant to be close to signing a striker as well and isn't anyone who we've been linked with previously.
We certainly need around 3 players given the bench we put out on Saturday, 3 youth players, McCombe who seems semi-retired and our goalkeeping coach to make up the 7 subs.

If Braintree are now willing to listen to offers for Akinola, then I wouldn't be that shocked if we went in for him. We've had a couple of offers knocked back in the past, but if their willing to sell now might be the time to get him in. Coops hasn't been happy with our output in the final third recently, Akinola would definitely help with that.

Up against #TopNegotiator Asif's negotiating skills, the amateurish Cowley brothers would stand no chance of getting him, so Lincoln better hope we're not interested this time.

Not sure where else to stick this.

Lincoln fans - what do we think of the Raggett tribunal? Parmenter is a hard man to please and he said he's pleased with the result. Initial thoughts were £50k but I think it may be slightly higher than that.

Again, would be surprised if it's even 50k, more likely to be £30-40k? I imagine Dover negotiated a healthy sell on fee and maybe bonuses should we get promoted?

I'm not sure really. It seems they just put the figure in the middle of the two valuations but an initial £50k seems too high for a CB IMO. I'd not pay that for him but if it's £50k overall and 20% sell-on, then I think it'll work out decent business.

Pretty sure it'll be disclosed and something appears on the FA website today. There haven't been any figures rumoured at our end.

Lincoln splash out the best part of 100k on transfer fees in one day.

But of course they're not Going For It™ :animatedf:

No confirmation of any fees as of yet, so I'd not jump the gun.

There's a difference between spending funds you have in the bank (£55k by the fans in the summer, £50k (at least) on the Margetts sale and FA Cup money, which is going to be £15k+ as it stands) and spending the Chairman's money. ;)
