Rumours of a fee just shy of £20k agreed plus a sell on % for us, which I'm happy enough with.

Really strange for us to spend money on someone who will be 3rd or 4th choice striker, especially when we will be playing 1 up top with 3 attacking midfielders.

I'd be gutted to see him sign for any other team in our division - a very promising player. Played wide right a fair bit for us, and I seem to remember he also played right-back, but definitely best in an attacking midfield role. Likes to burst through with the ball, but also capable of a shot and a hefty tackle. Just a very good all-action midfielder, and still very young.

apparently he was quoted at your open day talking to a fan, saying that us and notts county have made bids for him but that he wants to stay at tranmere

More likely it's because he lives in the area, so just keeping his fitness up while he sorts out a new club.

While we have been putting together a team with a good amount of experience and a number former captains, the 113 years of Shay Given playing behind Pilks and Wes Brown would be taking it a bit too far.

We have turned down an offer from Wrexham and two from Notts County for Andy Cook. Mellon has said he is central to his plans and is not going anywhere.

Clubs generally only offer for players when they've had encouragement from the player themselves. Apparently the word is that Cook would be glad to get out of his Tranmere HELL under Mellon.

You must admit it would be a strange move for him to make if League clubs are interested. And we would not sell to a club in the same division (I would imagine).
