Has echoes of Swansea recalling Ryan Hedges from his loan on January deadline day only to sell him to Barnsley and offer a couple of duds as replacements a couple of years back. Went from comfortably mid-table back to relegation scrappers with the lowest scoring rate by May.

What’s he like, any good?

Sleight and diminutive but has quick feet and a good delivery on him. Been used mostly from the bench, given the physical side Sarll has set us up as, so a couple of weeks ago wouldn't have been that disappointed to see him go. Except last week we lost 2 midfielders to long term injuries and named a 4 man bench featuring 2 youth players and our goalkeeping coach. Rotten timing for us, great opportunity for him.

Last seen at the start of December in the Berks and Bucks Cup against step 5 Binfield, whose left back had him in his pocket. He hasn't been in a matchday squad since, and in our Trophy games we've left empty spots on the bench rather than include him. He looked way out of his depth in the NL and Havant released him mid-season last year when they were in the middle of a relegation battle.

In his defence he was a big prospect at Palace and did well on some of his loan spells and at Dulwich, but that was all some time ago now. He is not in any way L2 standard.

To me this seems like Holloway being prepared to give one more shot to a player who likely impressed him in training at Palace and has lost his way badly since. He won't cost you much, we only have him on non-contract anyway.
