I still can't work out why Notts paid a fee for him, their fans seemed to rate him (as we did) and then released him.

He wasn't ready for L2 when we signed him. We've basically nursed him through an apprenticeship for two years, watched him fill out to be rugged enough for this league, signed on paper a couple of players who should be playing L1 football and got rid of him to free up budget.
He is unproven, Ardley is very good at spotting players and never played him much so maybe Notts, Chester and Fylde fans are wrong, but I think Hartlepool have signed him at the right time to get any potential he has out of him.

If anyone else has posted that rumour I wouldnt believe it....but he was on the money with the other two. Crickey.

Whisper it...its our year.

On a related note I dont really like these sons of players I remember, signing, it makes me feel really old.

Cole is now rumoured to be coming to us according to a reasonably reliable source on our message board.

I think were going for a cheaper ex- England youth International who was at Doncaster last season.

Youd think Cole would fill his boots in the National League, surely far too good.

Don't know anything about him but hasn't scored much for a couple of seasons now?

I think it's more or less the case of him getting fairly regular football at League One level throughout his career. I'd imagine dropping down 2 levels, he would have a field day. He's the right build for it in this league too.

Aye well we have Rhys Oates so you crack on signing L1 players, I'm not jealous.

He should be but after ending up at Motherwell he probably wants a decent wage back in England. We've sent a few up to Scotland and they all come back South after a year. Krystian Dennis is the latest, gone to St Mirren. Scots Premier and National League aren't a million miles apart in standard.

Yeh .... that brief spell when him and Gary Roberts were our centre midfield that was two Blacon lads together. For those that don't know Blacon. It was at one time the biggest council estate in Europe.

Stockport fans, any truth in the rumour Morgan Ferrier had a medical, with a view to a move to you? Can't see any mention on your fans forums, but he hasn't featured last two games for us.

Don't think we'll get another striker unless one leaves. We'll be working with a small-ish squad this season. No disrespect to other teams in this league, but we're not ones for stockpiling players.

Although I'm led to believe there maybe a bit left over of the Festus Arthur money who we sold to Hull this summer.

Sure we'll have him. Let's have your man Spearing 'n all. In fact just transplant the whole squad

Depends what type of player you need. He's a handful up front, but not a prolific scorer.

The reason I posed the question was a suggestion on one of our forums, but not seen anything on the Stockport boards. There's now mention of Blackpool, but don't know if that has any legs.

Reece Grant has left despite scoring twice on Saturday, contract cancelled by mutual consent.

Wrexham lot, what standard do Cefn Druids play at? We've got one of their players on trial (ex-Blackburn).

They are in the top Welsh division now I think. We often loan them youth players if that's any help! That said some good players have come out of that league.

Dean Rittenberg?

He was with Bangor City before they went belly up and were expelled from the Welsh Prem, and has played in Europe with them

I'm not sure what his stats have been like since he joined Cefn, we normally play them in pre-season and normally beat them comfortably, and they have a few of our ex players too. That said, Cefn have become a bit of a circus recently too, so he may well want out.
