No chance we will sign Tshimanga but I wouldn't be against putting a big bid in, just to distract him if nothing else.

Rumours however reliable that several league 2 clubs might be after our skipper Niall Maher. Been with the club for 3 years but he's really come into his own this last couple of seasons and especially since getting the armband in the summer.

26 year old centre back. Not the biggest but generally reads the game well
I believe we have been linked, alongside 3 others (Barrow, Carlisle and Hartlepool from memory).

Maybe it’s just that he was useless for us as a young loanee, but Campbell absolutely screams one of those half season wonders you get. Done absolutely nothing anywhere until this year.
We had him last season on loan. You could tell he had some quality I remember a decent goal he scored at your place last season for us but didnt produce nearly as often as he should have done

He’s scored every single time he’s played against us since we had him on loan I think, must be about half of his career goals before this season.

If Grimsby are still in need of a Striker, Matt Green was released by Linfield yesterday and is moving back to England.

Hahaha I'd actually have him over Lenny. There are murmurs that we might be hijacking Colchester's bid for Loft. Probably bollocks though.

According to that you tube video (which I think gets its info from.Football.manager, so.you know its legit) Chesterfield are only paying him a tenner a week. Bung him half a Mullin (8k)

League one and two have wages caps in place and players moved there are unlikely to be for a financially lucrative deal, hence the mercenaries jumping ship the the likes of Wrexham and Stockport. I’d say Kabongoals has more of a chance of joining Wrexham over a league one or two club.
Aside from the turnover:wages ratio that's been in place for years, the salary cap only lasted for one season and is now back to how it was.

Thanks for the update, guess it shows even more how much in wages Wrexham and Stockport must be offering to these signings to drop two levels.

Oi leave us out of it. We’re not at Wrexham’s EFL player stealing level. I know we pay ridiculous wages but it’s only Quigley this summer and Rooney last year who left a league club where they were still wanted.

Madden was falling out of favour at Fleetwood and well of course he’s on a wedge it was the three and a half year deal that swung that one. Sarcevic fell out with Evatt otherwise we wouldn’t have got him and all the others were not getting regular football at League Two level.

In our 16 that beat Solihull we had:

Four players that were part time with us in the NLN signed on frees from Fylde, Boston, Guiseley and Worcester - Hinchliffe, Keane, Palmer and Minihan.

Two players signed from NLN clubs - Croasdale and Newby

Two signed from Fleetwood’s development team - MSH and Rydel

One who had no football league experience who’d been released half way through the season by Hamilton - Collar

Three unwanted league Two players - Hogan, Crankshaw and Jennings

And then the three big money attacking players - Rooney, Madden and Quigley

I hope if/when we get out of this godforsaken league I hope we box a bit clever and spend less money as proven with some of the players above and as Chesterfield have there is plenty of young talented players you can pick up and mould into the right system who can grow with your team.

Apart from Madden, Quigley and Sarcevic all our other over aged 28 football league signings and Premier League loanees have been generally been well outperformed by our NLN players/less glamorous signings.

You talk rubbish of the 16 players in the squad at Alty only 6 have been brought in by the new regime.
Tozer Hayden and Mullin will be on good monies but Hosannah came from Leeds u21 squad Lennon free from Southend and Jones free from Lincoln. The rest were already at the club.
I suspect our wage bill is much lower than you and would come from our Season ticket sales.
Hopefully that will change in January and bring in some quality signings and spend some of our tik tok sponsorship money

Mentioned him above - the only reason we got him and on a free was because him and Evatt had a huge falling out. Sure he’s paid handsomely for his time though SOC.
Ah sorry missed that.

One thing I will say about your side is that Crankshaw has been an inspired bit of business. Never read a single good thing about him previously but he looks like a top player at this level. Would love to know how much he's on, I reckon he's probably not on loads. Potential signing of the season for me.

But aren’t you adding quite a few more in January?

I suppose it’s a wait and see with your strategy as you had so little time to put a new squad together whereas it’s coming up to two years with us.

We’ve been a bit scattergun but unless they are Madden/Quigley level good I hope our interest in ageing football league players on the whole is over.

I think most fans hope we bring a few players in January.A couple of MF and forward would be the minimum. We have the money and plus the owners want promotion as soon as so the indication is they will really give it a go in January. Lots will depend on the quality of signings we bring in.As it stands we would probably finish 4 or 5th and most fans would agree we haven't played well yet but we are tightening up at the back and we score goals for fun plus we have super Paul Mullin so we would be tough for anyone in play offs. With quality January additions our ambitions could be higher

Yeah he’s been absolutely brilliant and is so versatile. He’s played RW, RWB, CAM and up front since Challinor has come in. Fair play to our recruitment team and much maligned DOF as I believe he was a long term target who we’d previously missed out on. When everyone’s fit though he still isn’t in our first choice Xl which shows how much better every has been since the new gaffer arrived.

A young talented player with room to grow. Definitely a value for money kind of signing that I’d like us do more of. Another in that mould is our young LWB Rydel, who we got last spring for a small undisclosed fee and did absolutely nothing under Rusk in the few chances he did get but has been sensational under Challinor.

He’s only 20 so if he carries on improving he’s one that will either earn us a big fee or if everything goes to the owner’s plan will move up the leagues with us.

Not really a transfer rumour but have heard on Twitter that Danny Rowe has now been diagnosed with a heart condition in which he / his family, medical professionals and the club now need to make a decision on whether he is able to carry on playing or if he’ll have to retire!

I really really hope it isn’t the latter, he still has so much to give and having him back would be a huge boost to our promotion chase, but if it’s going to put him at serious risk of having a cardiac arrest / heart attack etc every time he steps out onto that pitch then I’m afraid there’s only one sensible choice to make! Watch this space on that one, will be interesting to see how it plays out as an announcement is surely due soon enough..
Please keep us updated on that. Would be a huge shame if that were the case, let's hope it's just a bit of misinformation.

It's a bit of a hotbed of young talent coming out of Halifax recently isn't it, PW got to take a lot of credit for that I think

Next one off the production is Kian Spence 20 year old centre mid. Real talent at such a young age.

We've a number 10 out on loan that Wild thinks is next seasons key man Jamie Cooke.

Best manager we've had for some time. Despite looking like a pensioner he's only mid 30's as well. Big future in management. Hopefully he can take us up before he inevitably moves on. If ever we have a chance its with him in charge

For all the good players in their squad Wild is the one Halifax need to keep hold of, his record is seriously impressive. Not just having Halifax consistently.punch above their weight results wise but he's got the ability to both spot a player but also to take players who don't look anything special and get them playing above themselves. That reminds me.of Brian Flynn who was our manager in the 90s and did similar things with us- famous cup wins and consistently up near the play offs in Division 2 (League one) despite the club being run on a shoestring. Also discovering gems like Bryan Hughes, Andy Marriott, Lee Jones, Chris Armstrong, Karl Connolly, Lee Trundle, Andy Morrell etc etc who all played at higher levels.
