Not surprised. It was clear early on that he was never going to become a regular starter for us and probably fancies a move closer to home with a chance of more first team football.

Lindon Meikle to Barrow is very likely - remember him being a very good player a few years back, though a winger isn't really what we need.
Vanarama National League North club Alfreton Town have announced the signing of 27-year-old winger Lindon Meikle following his release from National League side Macclesfield Town.

Finally a signing!! And a good one to boot. Very happy with this!

I'm guessing the rules around him not being able to sign for Barrow don't apply when you drop a division? Do you know what kind of contract he's got, because Cox hinted that he'd be looking to take him in January?

Not sure. I would guess he is on non-contract terms then as he was at Macc until you come and take him in Jan.

He's a winger isn't he?

Not sure he'd get in our team ahead of Frear or Marsh-Brown, both a lot younger and Frear in particular has been on fire this season. Massive potential and will be in the league sooner rather then later.

According to one of our local journo's on twitter, the potential Drury to FGR deal is not dead.

He also states: "Just because a bid has been rejected does not mean it wasn't encouraged."

FGR have been back to say they would pay 200k.
So they have agreed on 300K

Personaly I will take what S Donald says to people, rather than journo fishing

£300k for a 32-year-old Conference player???
If that's true, then that's mental. But of course, the FGR debt is nothing to worry about.

Surely not. He's a good player but at that price you could get someone far better, and with resale value. The again this is FGR we are talking about...

We paid 6 figures for Keanu Marsh-Brown (according to the B-Wood Times), who couldn't get a game for Barnet last season. So paying a big fee to prize a key player from a promotion rival doesn't seem beyond us. Drury was at Gravesend (Ebbsfleet) whilst Pennock was there, so they will probably know each other.

Personally would rather we didn't, there are better more affordable options out there.

Jason Walker will likely be on the move in January.
He's got a clause in his contract that if he plays a certain number of games this season it gets extended for another season - at around £900p/w, Cox isn't prepared to do that so he's effectively going to have to freeze him out.
Walker's not good enough for this level, so it'll likely be a loan deal - Stockport or possibly Southport?

So the loan move for Hearn to Barrow to get more game time is really paying off isn't it Liam? Their game today has been called off so now he won't be able to play again until at least Boxing Day!?

Where's that smug chuckle emoticon!

Is there the slightest chance he was just using the "needing more game time" line to find a way to join a club where he'd be on more money and with a manager he knows and seemingly loves....

Anthony Cook back to us doing the rounds again. Some (Kent) transfer news expected this evening according to local journo Steve Tervet. Cookie's "Unfinished Business" tweet could be a giveaway too.

Have also heard Adam Cunnington could be going in the other direction.

Ive heard from quite a few people that you guys tried signing Lee Worgan from us...14k transfer fee & a lot higher wages than we're paying

Would make sense considering hes suddenly signed a new contract to 2018. Taken the lower wage for more ''job security'' by the looks of things

Now confirmed. Cook re-signs with Adam Cunnington heading to Bromley. Hope he gets some game time. Terrific striker when given the time.

Not sure on the Lee Worgan thing. Our number one was always going to be Preston Edwards or Brandon Hall. And with Jon Miles signing as cover (very early on into the close season) I don't see why we would try to sign another? Not saying it didn't occur, but seems way off the mark to me.

I'd like to see us sign another keeper now though. Not totally convinced with Hall at the moment, although he does have flashes of brilliance.

Suggestions that we've got an out of contract player coming in to give us some numbers up front.
