Thierry Audel back training with us with view to us finding a couple of quid to offer him a contract. Askey hoping to have him signed up ASAP. Perfect addition to the squad, we'd then have 6 defenders in total!

Still amazed we didn't find a place for him here.

To be fair, you have got two converted defensive midfielders and Nat Brown to play at centre back, so you don't really need any more cover.

We didn't at the time but even forgetting that, Audel was our 2nd best CB behind Miller and better than Brown.

Not sure where you've got the two converted DM's from? I'm assuming you mean Bencherif, but he started his career off at CB anyway.

I always thought that Diagne was better in midfield when he was with us, although I think you're right that it wasn't ever his official position.

Simpson played Diagne on the left of midfield for a while, I always found that strange.

Would be great if we get Audel back, thought he was decent last time and would really give the defence some strength.

Would have him back here in a heartbeat as our defence has been shocking this season especially away from home.
As Luke says only Miller is better at CB but he's really at RB, Bencherif has done a decent job filling in at CB but prefer in midifeld as our midfeild has gone to pot of late and as for Diagne bloody useless the fact he's injured is total blessing wouldn't have him anywhere near the side!
Only Simpson would give him a two year deal, he's a total donkey.

We've got former Colchester left back Tom Bender on trial apparently. Had previous loan spells at Welling and Dartford in this division.

Dawson follows me on Twitter for some reason.

Not sure why League 1 teams would want him though, he looked completely out of his depth at that level for us - fairly skilful but nowhere near enough pace or technical ability to be an effective winger at that level.

I believe a striker will be joining on loan. Been here on loan before and wasn't very good (only young at the time mind). Not a great goalscoring record either. Ah well.

With Josh Scott out for 3 games, Kabongo Tsimanga going back to MK and Ryan Jarvis possibly out injured, back-up is needed.

He was superb against us 2 weeks ago, especially in the first half, skinned Robertson time and again, looked way too good for this level of football.

One in, one out today apparently.

Probably someone like Jordan or a young lad going out with an experienced left sided player coming.

What's the point? We're not going to get relegated so why not blood some of our youth team in these last few games? What's the point in fans raising thousands of pounds every year to keep the Centre of Excellence afloat when it's never used? When was the last time we took a chance on a graduate, aside from Robinson? And when was the last time we sold on a youth team player for a profit? You'd think a club that is strapped for cash would make the most of its youths and try and make some money out of them.

That's a lot of questions, I know...

110% agree. We aint going anywhere, looks like another big overhaul this summer so why not give the kids a chance. Are they good enough? who knows? But at least it gives them an opportunity to prove they have the quality, if they don't fair enough but at the very least they've been given that opportunity, that chance to kickstart their career. It also may give the more senior pro's a kick up the arse, that they aren't as good as they think they are.

Let's look at it another way, would I be more tempted to spend money going to watch the Imps give a few homegrown players a chance than carrying on as we are - a big yes from me.

I really don't see what there is to lose, especially with CM, GB and JS having a huge amount of knowledge of our youth system.

Agree to a certain extent, although we've got no young left winger to put in anyway.

So Chris Lines is apparently rejoining on loan...

If the attitude is there as well as the ability, him signing would be a huge boost for the last eight games. A little sceptical though over the former.

Chris lines is a rovers fan and just what we need. Would be an absolutely fantastic signing if we pull it off

Lines has never really lived up to his potential here. Looks good some games then is completely anonymous and I don't think he's made a tackle in his whole career. Think he expects to start every game too. However, what a silly career move it would be moving to non league. Makes no sense, it's not like he's not involved in our squad, he still has a part to play at Vale.

Haha, I'd have said exactly the same when he was with us!!

Would be a strange move, but we'll see!

Askey's said we're after a pacey front man who can get in behind defences, the complete opposite to both MBH and Fairhurst. Just what we need to be fair. Just hope its not just some sprinter come footballer and can actually finish as well!

Does sound like the perfect person to reignite our season at a time we desperately need it. Not sure how abundant/affordable/attainable they are though!
