Rumours that we're signing Joe Bunney on loan from Rochdale.

EDIT. Denied by Askey.

Or not! Sounds like it's off for a week or so as opposed to being dead.

All due to happen, but Mansfield have blocked it at last minute.
So it was a permanent deal then not a loan? Fair play if so but maybe they should they of tried to sign him earlier in the window dunno?

No, loan either way. Sounds like a loan until the end of the season but Mansfield failed to land one of their targets.

They get their target next week, we get Beevers.

The deal was off this morning but was apparently resurrected for a couple of hours this afternoon, to the point where we must have thought it was going to happen. I'm disappointed it hasn't but we weren't going to be able to compete with you because moving to Bristol short-term is not going to be as appealing as staying relatively nearby and joining the only team currently above us in the table.

Thanks Luke, fingers crossed for next week then. Would be a great addition, only 31/32, his only real problem is his dodgy shoulder!

Someone on Vitals reckons the wide player we were after was Moke.

Most half decent wingers do, great at set pieces not so good at defending sadly.

Not sure where to put this but Scott Nielson will be training with the youth team this weekend. After weeks of the club saying he's 'ill' it seems there is in fact a problem. And within a week we look like losing 2 of our best players and nobody has a fucking clue why.

Don't think this problem is unique to your club. Lee Hughes was suffering with an illness for a number of weeks before signing for Kiddy, clearly well enough to pass any medical exam!

Except we do know why. Thomas has left because Hurst said he didn't want players here who don't want to be here and clearly Thomas didn't want to be here.

As for Neilson he has said he isn't in the squad because others are ahead of him and not everyone is travelling to FGR so he will train with the youths the same as Pittman and Brown who are returning from Injury.

Still lets keep the fishy conspiracies going shall we.

That's not exactly an explaination regarding Thomas is it? There was obviously some kind of fall out, a fall out only a manager will ever win.

Same with Nielson, he's by far the best creative player at the club. I absolutely refuse to believe he's been 'ill' all this time. Hurst has history with having some kind of rift with him, hence why he'll happily publicaly slate the bloke from time to time.

Neilson was rightly dropped then when he came back he got injured and then "ill" he now has to work his way back in the team and lets be honest we aren't exactly missing him right now are we?

Who knows what happened with Thomas but it was him who asked to have his contract terminated which suggests he didn't want to be here.

Oh and just read the GET were Hurst says Neilson has trained just three times since getting injured against Lincoln, is it any wonder he isn't back in the squad?

Come on Freelaf, you don't really believe what Hurst says do you? I wouldn't take what he says at face value.

No i believe the deluded fans on the fishy instead

The only deluded ones are the ones who think everything is rosy after 3 wins. The ones who aren't deluded are the ones who don't trust Hurst as far as they can throw him.

Obviously I meant the last 3 wins. Before which Hurst was public enemy no.1. Give it 3 wins and 2 signings and he's suddenly a genius, it's ridiculous. 3 more wins and I'd start to believe he's turned things round, but I've seen enough of Hurst to know not to get excited about anything and not to take his word for it regarding to players randomly getting dropped.

No he was public enemy number one on the fishy because of 2 losses. Prior to that we had 1 loss in 13, its not me who keeps changing my tune on Hurst. I'm not the fickle one

My trust in Hurst has improved ever so slightly not because of the results, but because of the signings he's made. Our squad looks pretty decent now. I still think he has huge flaws but as long as he puts out a good lineup and doesn't piss about too much we might be alright.

Sounds as though Newton could be on his way sooner rather than later.

He seems to be making it clear that he's doesn't want to be sticking around and he's obviously had his head turned. I think he thought he'd be sold in January (in fact Newton and his agent were pushing for us to sell him in January) with Luton and Barrow very, very interested. He's always gone down the location line with thing so I suspect Barrow would be a preferred choice with him being a Liverpool lad. They train in Manchester, are now good payers and his mate Ledsham is there, too.

Anyway, Newton or no Newton, it appears that we'll be dipping into the loan market next week.
