We've turned down an approach from Grimsby for our left back Chris Stokes. He's been training with Yeovil but they couldn't match his wages, but it looks like despite AP not wanting him he wont allow him to go to a promotion rival.

We had a bid (unsure if loan or permanent) for a player turned down by his club yesterday and have now moved on to other targets.

I would have thought it will be a central midfielder or creative player.

I imagine that was before we signed Gregor Robertson, as we don't need another LB now.

I actually rate Stefan Payne from what I've seen. No way Luton will pay enough & I don't think the big man will be that turned just yet by an offer from Luton. They weren't willing to cough up for KMB and won't meet the price for Akinde either.

Nobody in at Rovers, with four arrivals already this month (Fleetwood, Marwood, Clough and Moore). I can see one or two of the fringe/loaned (read ostracised) players leaving for good, which could include Barry, Forbes, Stokes and Vieira.

Never had any pace when with us last but was always an excellent intelligent footballer. Not quite sure its what we need but extra quality is always a plus.

If it happens he would be useful (would just be nice to see someone signed!), while not a defender he would make me much confident we could cope with injuries to our CMs.

Fear is that he'd be in to replace someone leaving (Turnbull).
