we're looking for a new rival now we're down here. Looked locally and found the likes of Bromley and Borehamwood don't actually have any fans, Dagenham have always felt like a little brother we just want to pat on the head and Leo Roget smashing up Barnet's stereo too tenuous a link to start a rivalry.
Clearly Southend fans inherent loathing of Ryan Reynolds has won the day.

None of them are of sufficient stature, you want rivals on a similar level to you. Its like us and Chester, it just feels mean. Poor little guys.

I’ve no idea on the figure to be honest. We offered him a new deal hoping he’d sign to then get a fee. No more than 50k I doubt.
