Just a general comment here, not aimed specifically at you Dan, but I'll never understand why people mention shirt sales. Clubs are lucky to get 10% of a shirt sale, in the lower league it's probably 5%.

Think there was a fee for James Jones although in one interview PP said he was free, but I don't know how seeing as he was under contact with you. You can see why I forgot to include him.

He looks average in this league. As you say, when you actually notice him on the pitch. We need to improve on him for a start. He's not attacking, he's not defensive, he isn't a playmaker, he doesn't get stuck in, he isn't a goal threat etc etc. Just a body in a shirt.

Jones has been a major disappointment for the most part, mostly goes through games unnoticed and has been part of a midfield which has been criticised by our fans as being our weak point. I do think he'd benefit from having a bit more freedom however.

I get your point about the shirt sales, but a conservative figure for our number of shirt sales would be 50,000 (we've very likely sold more than that). If we take in £40 per shirt sale on average (that's the cost of a child's shirt, so it'll be more than that) and we are taking 10% of it, that's £200k. Enough for the fee to prize a captain away from a League One club.

I've got the 3 we have this season, suspect thousands of others have as well. I'd imagine of the 8000 fans each week most have got 1 of the kits if not 2.

As for James Jones I'm one of his few fans. But that said some games have passed him by.

A new look midfield allowing Jones to get forward more would suit him I think. He dwells on the ball far less than the others. Luke Young should be the one of the current three to lose his place as then other two are just better than him. He'd be a decent understudy though.

I'll check when I next bump into someone who works in the shop but I was told it was an obscene number, for both the home and away shirts (and now we have a tidy third shirt). Earlier on in the season they sold out in the popular sizes pretty much as soon as they went on sale. Just by having tiktok on the shirts we've sold a load to people who would usually have zero interest in buying a football shirt (as lame as it sounds). Having celebrities with millions of followers on social media wearing your shirts does no harm either.

If we got to a Wembley final I'd expect sales to jump up again, though it was probably wrong to say 50k is a conservative amount.

We won't get near that figure again though, unless we get to the Premier League.

With the right design/marketing it's possible. Clapton FC made a Spanish Republic inspired shirt and it sold about 20,000 I think. They had to stop selling them online because they couldn't keep up. I don't think 50,000 sounds too absurd with the celebrity factor/Tiktok sponsorship working in Wrexham's favour.

After signing a striker to help Mullin, I think we're just one midfielder away. James Jones was fine yesterday and Jordan Davies has had another good season, but Luke Young is too similar to the pair of them and lacks their ability. If we had that defensive midfielder in there to allow Jones and Davies to play with a bit more freedom, and take a bit of the weight off the defence I think we'd be flying.

I'd probably add another midfielder and a left back to beef up the squad but maybe that's just me being greedy.

Maybe he is. I don't know .If we have a replacement coming in then it might happen.Up until Palmer scored on Saturday we hadn't scored in the previous 5 game's so that tells you that we don't have much up front without him.

Noticed he’s just got a new agent. Same agent as Niall Maher (and Jack Earing) Wouldn’t be massively shocked if he rocked up here. Green could be out for a while, it didn’t sound promising as he left the stadium on crutches so we will need a replacement most likely.

Getting hold of them is a nightmare, hoping there will be a delivery again soon as i still want the Green away shirt (yes, i already have the other two...).
Not an astounding figure like 50k at all IMO, but still, very respectable considering we used to sell about 5000 tops in previous seasons..

Maybe it's just some areas then but definitely more of our fans wear them than those who don't on match days. I'm not just on about the latest top that's out at the time, I don't buy the home/away shirt every year.

Whenever I've been away with Wales, you also stand out like a sore thumb if you aren't in a replica top, whether it be retro or new.
