It's Jason Shackell not fucking Fabio Canavarro!

Sounds like you're trying to convince yourselves as much as us that £2,5m on a 31 year old defender is good business.

Delighted we've resigned him, although it is ridiculous money. What makes it more ridiculous is that we sold him 3 years ago for £1.1, used the money to buy a defender not as good, we still have that defender, and buy a 3 year older Shackle back for nearly x2.5 the price we sold him.
However, right now I'm not concerned about that, we needed him, and we've got him.

Dyche ought to be asking his Chairman why he isn't spending some of the £60m of cash earned last season or some the guaranteed parachute monies they'll get for the next three years or so.

Who are we going to sell? Would think we need to sell some players to balence it out a bit, would guess Shotton, Warnock, Dawkins and Sammon currently.

Top signing Shackell, maybe over the odds a bit but it's priceless if he sends us to the Prem

A month ago Dyche was saying they were more powerful in the transfer market now, and Shackell was going nowhere. You've made a fool of yourself Sean.

Anyway, Kaitlin gets to furnish her real dream home now, in the picturesque Derbyshire countryside.

Warnock won't go, as we won't have any cover at left back. The rest probably will though, if anyone will take them.

Villa could renew their interest in Hendrick, now they've got all that money.

EDIT: I reckon Keogh could go too. I like the idea of a Shacks Keogh partnership, but I don't see Keogh being happy about losing the captaincy. It'll most likely be Shacks and Pearce at the back.

Sammon off on loan to millwall or Sheffield United apparently. We are covering 50% of the wages. I'd like to see Shotton go. Poor signing and never looked good enough.

I've just had a look at that Hofmann's record and it I can't make heads nor tails.

I knew he was a German U21 international, as he scored against England, and couldn't understand why he was sold for less than a million.

I then saw that he managed just the six goals in 30 games in the second German tier and it made sense.

Then I saw he has scored nine goals in 16 Germany U21 appearances and then got confused again.

I look forward to seeing him, and most of Brentford's new boys, play this season.

Yeah, he's an odd one. Probably why we've gone for him as he's got some ability but it just didn't click at his last club, so would be undervalued.

Hopefully the coaching staff here can get it out of him. We'd be paying 4 times the price if it was an equivalent English Under 21, so I'm pretty happy.

Looks like he might fit right in with us going off this.

After signing Philipp Hofmann, Brentford have installed new goals at Griffindor Park. They are also believed to have sent scouts to watch an as-yet-unnamed striker playing for Avellino.

Dyche has had his hissy fit at Derby now about shackall joining. Really comes across as bitter? I know we're spending money this season but he's going on and on about money he sounds like clough did after every game showing the difference between clubs and resources and how much they've spent. Almost getting his excuses in before the season starts.

Apparently they have agreed a fee for Lansbury, how dare they attempt to sign a player for money.

£2.5m apparently. Seems incredibly low considering we rejected £4m in January. Unless they're giving use Juketwiecz as well which is probable.

To be honest, I would have preferred him to stay but won't lose too much sleep if he goes now. He just doesn't do enough on a regular basis. I think he is a superb player but he has been a passenger for too long here and his inability to consistently run the show from midfield is extremely frustrating. He doesn't do enough to be in a midfield two and if you play a 3 you need him to either be box tt box or the attacking midfielder, but he just seems to sit in between the two roles. Great talent and really thought he could be great here. Had more ups than downs though and won't leave with any hard feelings. I just feel he is wasting his talent in this league and if he could discipline himself a bit he'd be a good player.

Dougie had a rant yesterday about players coming in, getting big wages and thinking they've made it so sit back and do fuck all. Sounds like it was aimed at Lansbury.

Not sure what the trains are like between Notts and Burnley. Someone should let him know what with his driving ban.

Lansbury probably had enough ability to make more of an impact at Arsenal, or at least certainly in the Prem somewhere. I've always been pretty impressed by him. He doesn't seem like a very "Dyche" type signing though, he prefers a grafter usually?

I've always thought he was talented, but if he could get away with doing the bare minimum, thats what he'd do.

That is the problem and that is why a hugely talented squad has done fuck all for years. Big money, big talent, no fucks given.

Get the kids in, at least they try.

Seems like the best idea at times, but fans have to be patient, and we all know that very much isn't often the case. By the time the boo's start, their confidence has shot it.

APPARENTLY we're now right up to the limit with FFP, so if there's any more incomings we will have to ship players out.

Chance of us getting the £1.2m back on Conor Sammon?

Jordan Rhodes has publicly slammed Blackburn for not allowing him to talk to Middlesbrough. So he'll be off there in a few days then...
