I'm just thankful we haven't got him tied down on a big contract and salary.

I remember Johnson at Wycombe Wanderers. He is actually quite a decent centre-back if his head is in the right place.

To be honest, you probably have.

Can I just check: you are aware he was relegated three seasons in a row, yes?

Not sure on his salary to be fair so you could well be right there but the contract is until the end of the season.

And yes, the fans are all too aware of his relegation history.

Have Wolves signed Aaron Simpson from us yet? I know he did well on a trial there. Too bad he's on schoolboy terms so we won't get anything for him, a la Chris Smalling.

Graham Dorrans will join Norwich on loan when the loan window is reopened providing Mulumbu's hamstring injury sustained in the African Cup of Nations isn't too bad.

Huh? I'm sure Sky Sports News told me on Deadline Day that you'd signed him permanently?

We were meant to and the deal involved a swap for Martin Olsson but, depending on what story you believe, either Olsson turned West Brom down or the weather meant he couldn't get to the Hawthorns in time to complete the deal.

If everything is agreed, you can fill in some form saying a deal has been reached and ask for an extension (think they allow you until 1am) to submit the required documentation. So I'm not sure I buy that it was because he couldn't get there in time, think a disagreement in personal terms is more likely.

I think the suggestion is more that they couldn't complete a medical and with Olsson's dodgy shoulder they weren't willing to go without one.

This extension thing is quite new, isn't it? I don't recall it ever being a thing before last summer.

The deadline was THE deadline.

Wolves have nicked Aaron Simpson off us on a two-year deal. Good luck to him!

Blackpool made an inquiry for Madine, they really are destined for League One

Apparently after Lawrie Wilson at Charlton on a freebie in the Summer - obvious Chris Powell link.

Yeah, you'll probably get him.

Be a shame, he was one of our better performers last year despite our struggles but unfortunately we're entering a new era at Charlton for better or worse and he's fallen out of favour.

You could sign worse freebies.

Madine due to sign tomorrow apparently. Is he that garbage? Used to be a steal on FM when at Carlisle.

Gary Madine had quite the gambling addiction whilst he was down on loan in Coventry, I'm sure Ladbrokes will miss him anyway

Any good? Don't know anything about him to be honest, but he'll go down well with the other 50 academy players we've signed in the last 6 months.

How dare you, our rapist Owner and Fly tipping Chairman would never sign anyone with a bad attitude or criminal record with the exception of Lee Hughes, Michael Chopra, Gary MacKenzie and Nile Ranger.

We've more bargain deals than Lidl down our academy. There's going to be trouble if it turns out we just hire a van and drive round suburban streets chucking adolescents in the back.

The Sun reports that Chelsea are looking at Callum Wilson.

If you're going to make up a transfer rumour using the usual algorithm of 'pick decent player X from championship club Y and link with premiership club Z - would you really pick Chelsea!

Make it believable!

Would certainly keep the likes of Costa, Remy and Drogba on their toes.

Aye, they usually go for either Spurs or Everton for those type of rumours tbh.
