Evans hoping for three, would be delighted with four and happy enough with two.

But enough about Christmas dinners, imagine we'll sign Lafferty, a winger and another of some description (probably a defender with Berardi injured and Byram on his way) with Byram out the door for a couple of million at best.

So why are you spending £25k on a bench warming keeper?

Smithies was our highest earner at £17k a week before..

Aimed at QPR...

Because Chris Ramsey is an absolute fool. Was after another left back in the summer despite having 5 good quality ones already at the club. Absolutely abysmal in the transfer market, deserved the sack.

Harlee Dean has come out and said he won't sign a new contract, so he'll be off in January. Massive shame as I rate him a lot, good leader and has been around a long time, but we've got other players who can step up. Would love him to change his mind but doubt he will.

£1m should do it to any team that is interested. Could be the start of another wave of players out of the club I'm afraid, we're just not willing to bump up wages massively like Bournemouth did with their players.

Everton, Palace, Norwich, and Newcastle supposedly ready to bid for George Thorne in January.

Piss off.

Oh no, then you'll only have Johnson, Hendrick, Butterfield, Bryson, Hanson and Hughes to rely upon...

No Hughes until March though. :(

Bryson is probably out for a while too.

Chelsea have cancelled Patrick Bamford's loan at Palace. This is where everyone in the Championship enquires about him, but I expect he'll be back at Middlesbrough come January.

Some sour grapes in here boys...

Regardless of how many midfielders we've got on our books I wouldn't want any of them playing that quarterback position that George Thorne plays so well. He's indispensable to us.

They all had a go there last season and we all know how that ended.

Based on his performance at S6, I'd rather have Lopez..... But that's one game

Cobblers fan on here reckons we're signing their keeper, Adam Smith. 6 foot 4 - get him in.

Was one of the Leicester players involved in the sex tape in the summer - personally if he signs I won't hold it against him that he boned a hooker on video.

Been on a few nights out with him, the boy can drink.

He once did a solid 6 hours boozing in Chesterfield and then drove back to Sunderland, clearly has talent.

We've sent Grant Holt back to Wigan, he played 67 minutes in 2 months for us.

What was the logic behind it in the first place!?

We got him in for cover. At the time we got him in we only had Afobe and Le Fondre who were senior strikers at the club; (Dicko was injured, McAlinden was on loan somewhere and Enobakhare was AWOL).

Luckily Afobe and Le Fondre stayed fit so we didn't need him much.

25k? I would be very surprised if he was on that. Got a source?

But, he was bought to replace Green who was also meant to be getting shipped out. His move to Chelsea/West Ham didnt materialise and we ended up with him. I would rather Smithies was playing.

Liam Ridgewell signed on loan until mid-Feb (eligible after Friday). Onto our fourth LB of the season, but one who's at least actually left footed and has played a large portion of his career there. Experience should serve us well.

As much as I love Calderon, it hasn't half hindered us at times having him covering there this past month or so.

Smithies was on £17k at Huddersfield?? WTF.

I thought you paid out similar money to us in terms of wages.

Isn't he right footed?

Always known him to be a CB/LB so it'd be a bit weird if he was. Unless he's a Lahm style exception, and I just never noticed?

Na you're right, Ridgewell is as left footed as you'll get.
