Luke Moore, not that shit ex Villa striker?

I thought he had retired years ago, his brother Stefan used to play for my local team Leamington not so long back.

25k? I would be very surprised if he was on that. Got a source?

But, he was bought to replace Green who was also meant to be getting shipped out. His move to Chelsea/West Ham didnt materialise and we ended up with him. I would rather Smithies was playing.
Yep, Dean Hoyle at a recent Q&A the biggest source you can get.

Basically said we couldn't turn down the money and the chunk of wages off our books at Smithies was our highest.

Also lived in same village as me (Lindley) where it was well known he was on 17K and Vaughan on 15K.

Move was only meant to happen if West Ham got Green but they pulled that after QPR had got Smithies..

As for paying similar to Preston, Hoyle has bankrolled us since League One to get us up here. Now we're up in the Championship he has stuck to his word and put his money where his mouth is.

We've also picked up players smartly and sold them for a tidy profit each time as well as a couple from the academy ;-

Peltier, Pilkington, Hunt, Rhodes, Clayton, Coady, Butterfield, Smithies to name them off the top of my head making us around £25-30 million in total.

I expect Kyle Dempsey and Philip Billing to be the next to make us a few million, even Joe Lolley who's looked fantastic recently..

That's not to say we haven't made a loss.

But we've still had enough to compete enough to stave off relegation... Just.

I think under Wagner however you'll see us scout the foreign market more, ala Brentford with cheaper wages, but just as good players.

Yeah, we bought him off you which is why you are a club could not turn it down. I dont see how that has confirmed we are paying him 25k, or even 17k? Might have been a pay cut with bonus incentives.

We might be paying 25k for all I know, as I am only saying what I saw on QPR message board but I havent seen the 20+ figure mentioned. The Green bit sounds about right, and he is (reportedly) on 60k.

Nick Blackman rumour has resurfaced.

Sky Bet have us as favourites to sign Jack Grealish, although there doesn't appear to be anything concrete linkinig him to us.

Always known him to be a CB/LB so it'd be a bit weird if he was. Unless he's a Lahm style exception, and I just never noticed?
I know he played LB a lot for Birmingham and always did a solid job but I could have sworn he was right footed. He was constantly cutting back inside to get his crosses in, unless I'm thinking of someone completely different!

Looks like Pickford is being recalled as Sam Johnstone has trained with us today and from a reliable source "trained with us today and signed for a month to start with"

We were linked with Johnstone too, but it's likely he will chose you since he's already enjoyed a loan spell at PNE.

It’s just been confirmed on twitter that we've signed Sam Johnstone on loan for 28 days, hopefully that’s so he can play against Rotherham then we'll sign him permanently later in January.

Sorry to see Pickford go but Johnstone is the next best thing, Preston lad as well so hopefully we have a chance of signing him permanently.

Some speculation we might recall Ryan Fraser from his loan at Ipswich, seeing as we have a real shortage currently. Didn't know this but apparently a clause states it can be cancelled in the transfer window.

Howe asked today and confirms Fraser will stay at Ipswich, pleased with his progress there. Ta Mick.

Hope it's true that United are planning to recall Will Keane.

How bad has it actually got down there?

If its a case of need, wouldn't Wilson get the recall first?

By the sounds of it, this is Keane's choice what with them being shit and all. Best chance he'll ever have of playing for them.

Have Doyle and May not done well? Not surprised about that if true, although wouldn't have been surprised if one had been successful either - two players that could go either way.

When is Beckford back?

Doyle has been bad. May was starting to look slightly better before getting injured and is out for the season. Beckford back end of the month hopefully.

He's here till the end of the season from what we were told, part of the Mings deal and no recall

Some rumours from our side - a couple of less reliable sources saying we've accepted a bid of around £10m from Boro for Judge. Guessing that would include add ons for promotion if true. Very much doubt it, though it does seem Boro are willing to splash the cash at the moment.

Some other rumours from slightly more reliable sources saying Burnley have put in some bids of up to £4m for Tarkowski that have been rejected.

On the incoming side, we've had a bid for Ole Selnaes (a 21 year old Norwegian DM playing for Rosenborg) rejected, and are back in for Mokotjo from Twente (another DM). Seems to be the priority area for us.

Very little other noise ATM, which isn't surprising. Doubt we'd be in the market for many players, and we do our incoming transfer business very quietly the last couple of years.

£10m!?!?!?!?!
More assists than anyone else in the league, and has 10 goals from midfield this season already, in a team that struggled for quite a time. For me, he's been one of the main reasons we've done so well in the Championship since we got promoted.

I agree that figure is high, but not massively high. If Butterfield was worth £6m, this guy is definitely worth quite a bit more.

Edit: just looked it up and Butterfield was £4m, but still, would want around £6-8m for Judge at least.

Me neither. I assume this is with a view to a permanent move in the summer otherwise I really don't see the point.
